Brought this 70 RR 3 months ago. It needs a full resto. I have only just finished my 1st resto in feb and here I am doing another one. Mad really, but enjoyed the last one so much, and this car came up locally. Just finished a 73 Dodge Challenger which I imported from Calf. USA. Will post a couple of pics.
Have started stripping car down to put it on a rotissorie. Due to rust issues I have to modify the rotissorie to fit the back of the car. Hope to attach it to the leaf spring hangers.
Car is a 4 speed 383, 8 3/4 diff sure grip, drum brakes, no power steer, was Ivy green with black vinyl top, bucket seats, no consol.
More info to come. Will get some photos up. Shed in back ground not mine.

Will try and post more than 4 photos this time. Have stripped it down to the minimum , while still being able to drive it. Once a friend and I figure out how to modify the rotissorie then will pull engine out. Car is 95% complete. Will need new interior, carpet, hood liner, etc. Also black vinyl top.
Stripping paint with 3m disc and chem. stripper. Am getting car sandblasted and epoxyed. Will remove as much of the sound deadening, sealer and paint so there is not too many surprises.
Car has a solid front half. Needs some replacement panels ( trunk floors, sail panel, passg quarter, trunk gutters) and some patches. Blasting may reveal more. Will then put and order in from AMD in USA.
Am putting 1 afternoon a week aside for this project.
Hope including pics of my ebody does not upset anybody.

Welcome aboard the forum! Thats a nice looking Challenger you have there and your 70 RR will be a great project!! Good luck with your resto...

Welcome and thanks for saving those cars.

Welcome aboard Nelson .. there's a few other Kiwi's here too. Nice RR and E bodies

Good solid car for sure. That challenger looks great, And i'll bet the RR will look just as great when you're done with that one too.

Thanks for all the positive comments. Will be happy if RR turns out like the dodge.
Meet my panelguy on monday, different guy than who worked on the dodge. He is retired and will come out in the afternoons. Old school hammer and file guy. To repair the trunk lid he wants to take the skin off, makes me nervous but he said no problem. Time to order panels from AMD. Have found the deck filer panel here in NZ, so need from AMD trunk halfs, full psgnr rear quarter, drvr rear qrtr patch, trunk gutters and 3 window corners. They will be truck freighted to LA Calf., then shipped to NZ.
Friend came out on Thur and we made the modification to the rotissorie frame attachment bar. Have started emptying the engine bay, plan on dropping engine attached to K-member out the bottom as soon as possible.
Stripped the inside of the drvr rear quarter to make sure it was clean enough to patch.

Great Project!!!!

Looking good!!! Looks like you have some nice cars too.

I'm partial to the Challengers. I have 2 of them.

One is a 70 that is an original Lime Green car, the other is a 73 that was white, but I'll probably paint her in B5 blue.

Welcome aboard. Fine example you have picked.

Thanks, mopars are very addictive.
Been spending a couple of hours each day pulling RR apart. Gone now are brake lines, fuel line, wiring harnesses, radiator , drive shaft, steering column, and clutch linkage. Need to remove windshield and then dash. The windshield rubber is old ,so will cut it to get glass out. That will leave me just the torsion bars and then i can drop out the engine/ trans.

Got the windshield out today, safely stored in a box with the rear one. Removed most of the trim clips, 4 remaining with rusted screws. Cleaned up the frame and only 5 small rust holes, good result.
Next was the dash removal, nice easy job. Dash frame in great condition.
Finished the day buy starting to loosen nuts/bolts that hold brake master cylinder and pedal frame.

nice project welcome, challenger turned out nice! best wishes!

Some photos of pull apart. Got pedals out today.

Doesn't look like there's much there when you get it all apart, but there sure is a lot of parts to refurbish and put back in.

Hay Roadrunnerman,
Your correct there, hope i get the same satisfaction refurbishing these parts as I got on my first project.
Hope to get body on rotiss in next 2 days. Post photos then.

With the help of a friend we put in a big day yesterday and got car off it's feet and on to the rotiss. No major dramas , few tight nuts, etc.
