oil additives?

Has anyone tried or have any knowledge on Z Max additives for oil and fuel? I know that the older engines need a zinc additive especially mechanical flat tappet lifter and cam ssetups. Would this additive help or harm these older engines????

Ron, a while back I looked into this stuff to see what it contained. I'm still not sure what it is but I prefer to use a diesel 15w 40 oil and if I'm unsure of the zinc content I will add a ZDDP additive like Comp Cams break in additive. I hate to mess with a sure thing.

I use the Amsoil Signature 10-40 Synthetic with high zinc. I did use Justice Brothers and Motor Kote one time for phsycological reasons.
