Just had my engine rebuilt (440) and noticed I have a fairly decent oil leak at the fuel pump. After careful inspection, it appears the oil is coming form the two bolts that hold the fuel pump to the block. Anybody else ever had this problem and what type of thread sealer is recommended. Thanks

Just use teflon pipe dope on the threads..

Yes, pull the pump off get a new gasket and use e
rtv permatex#2 on one side and around the bolt holes reinstall pump, mash gas :)

I actually installed a block off plate upside down once :( oil all over lol easy fix good luck.

Ps reason I say pull the pump and replace gasket is its not hard to wreak the gasket the first time installing. And you get piece of mind that its right.

Yes. permatex#2. I have used this on pumps for 30 years. Works great on cars but pain in the A$$ to get off your hands.

I could be wrong, but personally i have never had any prob with oil leaking around the bolts, but rather the pipe plug under the fuel pump pushrod. Be sure its good and tight, maybe put some teflon tape on it as well..
