ok - I give up, speedometer gear at trans

ok - changed out 3rd member - got my correct dark green speedometer gear -put in trans - nothing....not registering, whats the trick? I do not
think it has stripped it, yet. That thing that holds it in, is lopsided, with
numbers around it....for a 3.23 where should it be turned - I put it at bottom, where
numbesr read, I forget, like 26-31 - so it reads at lowest point - toward the ground.....should I turn it, to engage the gear?

There are 3 sets of numbers on the speedometer adapter. Find out how many teeth are on your gear-like a green 34. Align the mark on the adapter within the range of your gear so the mark is down and lined up with a mark on the trasmission. If you don't do this the gear will be in tiny pieces laying in the bottom of your tranny in no time.
