Older movies you watched lately.....?

Other than the two best racks of all time, Farah and Adriane, what a waste of time.

I didn't know this...didn't even realize it was a Dodge. I thought the lack of Mopars was odd.

The ambulance used in the movie is the actual ambulance that director Hal Needham and screenwriter Brock Yates souped up and raced in the real Cannonball Run. It had been modified with a Landy built 440ci wedge engine, that made it go up to 145 miles per hour (233 kilometers per hour), and was equipped with four gas filler holes, so that the required 90 gallons (341 liters) could be pumped quickly. Needham and Yates didn't win the race (the transmission blew in Palm Springs, California) so Needham kept it in storage for several years, until the time came to make this film. After the movie, he gave it to a church charity, which raised a good deal of money auctioning it off.

All this talk about racks and ambulances reminded me of Mother, Jugs, and Speed. I haven't seen it in a long time, though.

Planet of the Apes 1968 starring Charlton Heston.

I saw this when I was just a kid about 50 years ago. Now, as an adult, it was like watching a new movie.

Many fantastic & classic movies suggested here to revisit or see for the first time. The older unknown, by me, films are fun to uncover nowadays. An example of this is the YouTube found “Star Packed” zany 1964 comedy.

Required the grandchildren age 12, to endure Ben Hur, all 3.5h, over 2 nights. Still a magnificent epic, very accurate historically, and I particularly like the oblique approach to Jesus, and, to be fair, the portrayals of Jews and Arabs...before Islam.

I watched " Mr. Smith Goes to Washington" , starring Jimmy Stewart and Jean Arthur, last night. Refreshing in today's political climate.

Cleopatra is next; it's over 4 hours.
