ONE PIECE FLOOR PAN (YEAR ONE) 70 super bee

Good day. I am installing a one piece floor pan from year one in my 70 super bee. It was originally an auto car, but now has a 4 speed. I am wondering the best way to get the pan inside the car? Does it fit through the door, or is it best to come up through the bottom of the car? Surely they wouldn't make a one piece floor pan if you had to hack it up to get it inside the car! Any help or tips are much appreciated.

I thought about doing that, however it is a 2 door post car with back windows that fold in, vice roll down. I hope this isnt a dumb question I'm asking! It has been driving me nuts!

Yep, just roll down the windows or if you have yours doors off makes it easier for you and a friend to move it around to position. Just make sure you have everything clean and ready to weld in the new floor so you are not moving it around to grind off the surface.

I can only roll my front windows down. the back two just fold in or out, can remember which.

Unless you have your crossmember out where you can slide it underneath, you may have to cut it in half to get it in.

Roger that. I did plan on removing cross member, and xmsn, and whatever lines are in the way, as i will be replacing clutch as well. Yea, I am starting to come to terms, that i will just have to half it up!

You could always go in through the front window.I would rather take out the windshield that cut the floor pan in half.

Well if you were planning on taking out the cross member than you probably could slide the new floor in but you would have to slide it back so you could weld the new cross member in. And you have the floor braces on each side. When you bought the floor, did you tell the supplier that it was going in a post car? I would have thought they could give you ideas or tell you the best way. Might be worth it to give them a call. Most of them have techs on hand to help with this kind of situation.

I dont wanna remove my windshield because its a driver...however, im sure thats probably how it is put in there on a full
rotisserie

The guy i bought the Bee off of had bought the pan and threw it in on the deal...

it will probably be best to go through the windshield.the time it takes to weld it back together would out way the cost of the removal/instal. and probably have you back on the road sooner.

I got the floor pan in. I would say it took 120 man hours! It fit diagonally with the front door off. Pain in the rear, but all worth it in the end! No more Fred Flinstone!

A day late and a dollar short Richard!...as far as cutting in half...I would rather reap the benefits of a solid floor pans structural integrity, vice cutting down the middle, as i stated before, they don't make a one piece pan for no reason... If there is a will there is a way. Advice to anyone putting one in...Be sure to inspect your rear foot pan as well. If your front pan is bad, then more than likely you rear is too. Food for thought. They make just the left and right foot pan, as well as a whole rear section. AMD!
