What's the skinny on parts these days?

Researching alot, and reading bad things alot. Mopar Performance parts...made in china? Or not?
A bit on tappets, mostly junk? Besides many other engine parts. So what's the deal?

We don't make things here like we used to .We just assemble things from parts made cheaper somewhere else.

:3gears::3gears:MADE IN CHINA OR KOREA OR JAPAN NOT HERE THATS THE PROBLEM !!

Beyond building a car I'm collecting cores and parts from the good old days for remanufacture and keep an inventory to keep the car going through many restos the struggle is to get creative with the quality of the new stuff and work around it... everything is junk now on my car and once all that junk is gone I will be forced to get into my original parts. Is my take on it.

yep, you have to get old oem parts and restore them yourself or they will do it for you with chineses stuff. good thing I was able to restore 75% of the parts on mine so far with members here and rr.net and ebay just dial it down to exactly wht you need and ask if anyone has it you will be surprised some has what you need sitting on a shelf.

Thanks for the replies.
Off hand, I'm thinking cam kit. Tappets flat wearing out in a few hundred miles, and such. Also did some reading about complaints on the Purple shafts, or the tappets included.
Sure, beginning to understand all the new break in stuff, but breaking in junk is a waste. These days, are the Purple cam kits worth looking at...or not?

Plenty of other parts to deal with, too.
