I have a camshaft that I am going to use for my 446 build. Its the Purple cam # P4286677. .455/.455 lift 231 duration at 50 intake and exhaust. the engine is going into a 3800lb truck. The motor is basically a stock rebuild with a steel crank and silvolite flattop pistons. 440 source I beam rods. and 346 iron heads. Is anyone running this cam in a similar engine setup? what kind of power does it make? What cfm carb would be good on a motor like this?

I would believe a 650CFM-700CFM carburetor would be the best choice for your mild, street setup.

i've got that cam in my 69 r/t. actual duration at .050 is 224. it has very good low end in my r/t, not much on top end with stock 4bbl. i think basically its a little underated. when i had a 6-pak on my r/t with that cam it would run traction limited low 13's at 106; 4060lbs, 3.23 rear, stock exhaust, t/a radials. i have a friend who ran some 12.80's at 108+mph in a 4250 67 charger using that cam; he had a little more motor than me. if your using a stock intake a 440avs would work fine.

Sweet thanks guys, glad to hear that cam is good for low end. Should get me down the quarter mile pretty fast, I also have a 3.23 gear so I may run similar times.

Should be fine in a 440. 272/272 advertised duration, 0.455"/0.455" lift, 112 LSA.
I think lewtot is right about the [email protected]" duration?
The cam is really close in size to the stock HP cam, which was used in the 440 truck engine in the early 1970's.
