Opioid Epidemic Fox Special

only way is to go cold turkey easing off is just keeping it going
Yeah well, I paid good money for those fuckers to strap my young *** down and listen to me scream and beg. It was worth every penny. When I first arrived everyone was so nice, and welcoming. Nice place. After 3 days I wanted to kill every damn one of them.

Hmm...dare I jump into this debate? Uhhh...yep. Fran Blacker, I too completely dislocated my right ankle in 2013, looking down the inside of my right leg the bottom of my foot was looking back at me. It hurts me EVERY DAY to walk on it. I take nothing for it. Never will. I stopped drinking beer and liquor, smoking grass and hash, smoking cigarettes, and drinking coffee like a fiend...all on the same day. I was stationed in West Germany at the time. I spent 32 days in a med spa in Austria but still, I stopped. I did. Nobody helped me, nobody held my friggin hand, nobody eased me off of anything. I was just 21 years old. If I had not stopped when I did, I wouldn't have made it to 22. My company and my pals never knew I did it or what it cost me. Nobody knew, I took 30 days in country leave, said I was going skiing in Austria and Italy. Was it hard? Hell yes, it was and still is a nightmare. Now before you say stuff like, well your an exception, or your just strong willed or any other nonsense, hear this...I am just a regular guy. If I CAN DO IT, ANY DAMN BODY SHOULD BE ABLE TO DO IT. MHO. 2 cents.
Alcohol was pain management before. Quit cold turkey in 2012.

Where there's a will there's a way.
When I was 30 I decided to quit smoking Marlboros, I do occasional have one while enjoying a stiff whiskey, but rarely. When I was 33 I decided to quit the crank. Was more difficult than quitting the Marlboros. But I've been clean for going on 5 years and have lots of nice stuff because I'm no longer spending 30k+ on dope every year.
Funny how that works

Fran Blacker, Good for you! At the time I was having 2 CASES of dark German beer delivered to my apartment a week, which I drank by my self. 2 packs of unfiltered Camels a day+. Expresso several cups a day, plus black coffee in my hand all of the time, Smoking grass and hash daily. I was a mess for sure.

3- 30 packs of Coors ex gold a week plus a few hear and there.

On the upside, I just took a pan of Ghirardelli brownies out of the oven and my wife is out of the country so they are all mine!

That's the epidemic that I'm most worried about. Diabetes.
Quitting the hard drugs is difficult enough, quitting sweets and sodas, much more difficult.
I'm going to have a tough time not gobbling up my young sons Easter basket

Christ said those with no sin shall through the first stone ! I think we all have some demon in us . Some just can control it better than others.

Soda's are the Devil. I don't touch them.

me either , have 5 sugars in my tea but ( don't stir it I don't like it sweet )

I smoked cigarettes for years. I don't blame the tobacco companies. Every one was lit by me.

Never heard of a doctor prescribing cigarettes - which is the root of the problem and why opioid addiction is different.

Good, hard working people can have a car accident and suddenly find their lives ruined with opioids. Doctors and surgeons prefer to prescribe opioids than perform a surgery that might relieve the pain (especially true with back issues).

How many times have you seen workmans comp injuries where doctors refuse to treat a patient because they can make more money on an insured customer? Sure, they're more than willing to keep stringing them along with prescriptions because they make their cut.

These are the people that deserve help - good people, moms and dads - not the smack heads that keep going back for a nickel hit.

This is a hand. It pours Vodka, lights cigarettes, and introduces drugs to the body. It belongs to the user and is responible. No one and no other entity is responsible. Unless you subscribe to the Liberal tenet that everything is someone else's fault.

If that hand got caught in a machine would you reject workmans comp? If you were left disabled, would you reject Medicaid?

Sometimes people get caught in addiction who are / were perfectly normal. Not even bad judgement, just doing as the doctor prescribed.

The internet is a great source for facts and fact based studies. Trying using it.
You might just find out some facts that go against your non fact based beliefs.

A great place to start is searching why was Cannabis made illegal to begin with?
The answer......racism and religious zealotry.
The facts are out there. Feel free to find them.
OK, smartass, everything you read on the internet is fact ? I asked you a question, you have NO IDEA what my opinion is on this subject, so you decide to answer with a wiseass generalization. Why do you answer with a presumptive, prejudiced remark ? YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT MY BELIEF IS !

Tobacco is ny biggest struggle. Ive stopped & started 4 times in life....the last being the longest @ 4.5 years. The desire of that hit in the back of the throat will never go away. 2013 i just caved one day & was back to a pack a day within a week. Ive got myself to a pack every 3 days now, but the weening is bs......only way to stop is immediate & keep saying no.
All the other **** i dont ever think about, no desire to ever come near the **** again, cant stand being around drunk fux, despise druggies who exist off welfare & stealing.
I dont give a rusty **** if its doctors who prescribe opiods, its still on the ****** taking rhe **** to not become dependent on the ****. I got cancer, i got pain, i got a 90 count bottle of Oxycodons sitting on the kitchen table since october 2016, missing only 3 pills.
I smoke dope & that helps with pain & nausea, the only side effect being a goddamned appetite.
It is IMPOSSIBLE to OD on Reefer!!
Let that **** sink in! Alcohol KILLS!! You can over consume in one sitting & die from it. Coke & meth kill if over consumed. Smoke buku dope & fall the **** asleep.
Sick of all the ******* hype about weed.......hyperbole ****.

I guess you and I approach things differently. When someone when presents a "fact" that I am skeptical of, I don't ask for "proof".
I do a Google search on the topic and begin the process of collecting information.

You are absolutely correct, I have no idea what your beliefs are.
My point is that when one does (open minded) research on topics such as this, that they should be prepared to find out that facts don't always line up with ones preconceived notions.
We all are influenced by B2B (brought up to believe)
Sometimes our B2B turns out to be bullshit

That's pretty cool.
Hey Dr. R. Schiffmann--We want tobacco when we buy "cigarettes". Hello--

Where have I heard about "belladonna" before? I think it was the late sixties. And that other ingredient--Stramonium? That is new to me?

We need a 2017 drug to fix all the short commings of the old and out of date ones.
Maybe an app. for our phones connected to electrodes on our heads??
