OK, this guy on this site has a set of these heads for sell and they look great and the price is great. But no one has snapped them up and was wondering if there may be something wrong with these castings of bb heads? I am seriously thinking of investing in these heads but wanted to get some feedback on these castings from the experts here. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I have limited funds for this build and want to make sure that it is well spent and all... I have researched the part number and found an article that says to steer clear of the early castings and that they have a certain M with a circle around it that indentifies it as the corrected castings... If anyone has a picture of this or can confirm this as true or false that would be a big help. Thanks for your feedback, Mike

Honestly, google mopar stage vi heads. Some castings have issues (earlier ones), some are all out race heads and the ones for sale (i think) need longer valves and a special valvetrain. I could be wrong, but i seem to remember i read something like that. Google em and the info comes right up.

Don't walk away from Mopar Stage VI heads......... RUN...........

i like stage 6's and the whole concept behind them (targeted for the low deck engines), but,.........they need a lot of work and money to make them great. there are machining and casting problems with some of them. add the price of valves plus port work and machining and edelbrock victors (upgraded stage 6 copies) begin to look attractive. they are nice for the low deck stroker but need spacer plates to be used on an RB engine.

If cost is a factor, leave them alone! Get you a set of Edelbrock or 440 Source iron heads.

We all have our opinion and having worked with both the with Stage VI and Victors, I would never call the Victor an upgraded Stage VI copy, way too may differences between the two.

Be that as it may, the OOTB STG VI is a piece of garbage, and the well set up and ported Stage VI can be a real powerhouse.

Unless you have to, or just really wanna use the Stage VI, I would start with something else. Other heads are just easier to begin with, because they generally need less corrective action.

Stage 6 heads...

This is exactly why I love for B bodies only, ask a question and get advise from guys that have been there and done that. They save rookies like me alot of mistakes and mistakes equal $$$$$$$$$. Cant tell you guys how much I appreciate your input and advise. Thanks. Mike
