Performer RPM or Victor 440?

It's called "the law of diminishing returns".

Had to jump in as I'm considering buying Sweet5ltr's old parts :)

I am waiting for the test results. If you already have both, you have to test them both out. Otherwise, how will you really know? I am under the impression one should use the RPM unless they have some ultra high flowing Brodix type heads or whatever with a .600 plus lift cam and the motor makes peak power at like 6800 plus rpm.

And you would be correct,
It's all in the combination. The Victor looks like it has great fuel distribution, and will perform great above 4,000 to 6,000RPM. A 20HP Increase, is worth a 10FT/LB decrease at lower RPM's (IMO). 290cfm of airflow, is well enough to support 600HP. I would say the heads flow considerably well. I believe the RPM would actually be a bottle neck when you take that into consideration, and an Indy dual plane would be a much better choice.

On another note, my Z06 Corvette dropped an exhaust valve yesterday while backing out of a parking space :eek:ops:

It's under warranty, so no troubles their. It's my daily driver, so hopefully they can figure out a direction to go tomorrow (New Crate Engine, crossing fingers...)

Will be breaking in the camshaft tomorrow, and hopefully will have a video and pictures available.

I read a comparison on the victor to the m1, they make pretty much the same hp, but if you give the m1 a little more rpm it beats the victor, course they spun a 440 I believe up to 7200. Both intakes were untouched. Plus if your concerned about hood clearance the victor sits up high.

Here is one comparison, victor clearly pulls ahead:

Here is Hughes test where the modified, ported M1 comes on top by 0.1 hp:

Believe me, I know about hood clearance. We run solid engine mounts, and the engine already sets up around two inches higher than standard mounts. We actually had to purchase an oval air cleaner, and turn it side ways to clear the six pack hood; It has around a quarter inch of clearance.

I was talking about the lastest test, now that I think of it it was on a 500cid, had the jesel rockers. Ill see if I can find it, it was like 2 mags ago.

I don't doubt the results, but the Victor is currently on the car and is shown out performing the M1 in nearly every test. Not going against your thoughts, but that is just what I went by!

Least-Greatest:
Holley SD..Performer RPM..Mopar M1..Victor 440..Indy Single Plane and Dual Plane..
