So, i am picking up a Pertronix Igniter 2 this weekend, until i can get a new distributer etc.

Do i still use my conventional Voltage Regulator?

I got the igniter 2 Dist. and added the flame thrower coil. The setup is easy to install and works VERY well on my 383. I am using the voltage reg. I had w/no problems!!!

The voltage regulator should have no effect on the ignitor so long as it maintains around 12V at the ignition terminal. What can damage an ignitor unit is the wrong coil. A coil with too low resistance will draw more current and that can exceed the current handling capability of the ignitor. The ignitor is just a solid state switch (transistor) triggered by a hall sensor. Brilliant!

That may or may not work. You should check with Pertronix. I used the chrome Mallory coil in my truck with the ignitor and it's compatible, only problem is I don't remember exactly which one. I think it was this one http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MAA-29219/

I'm pretty sure you want a primary resistance of about 1.5 Ohms.
