First I want to thank you all that helped me decide on aluminum heads over iron in my last post
Now I need help finding some good forged pistons for my build . My friend my builder says , no Kb hyperthetic
pistons

1971 b body
1973 440 bock bore 30 over , original cast crank and rods
CAM >>> comp xe275hl 231/[email protected]
Mopar 452 Aluminum heads P5153524 >>same as eddy's but strait plugs.... getting blueprinted and pocket ported ,new double springs for our cam, new keepers and retainers .... •84cc combustion chamber CLOSE CHAMBER
Hydraulic flat tappets
Iskie 1.6 adjustable rockers
eddy rpm intake >> will machine match to heads
750 double pumper
hot MSD ignition with digital box
headers 1 7/8 hookers ceramic coated with flowmasters an 3 inch pipes to rear ,
4 speed
373 gears
power brakes

I please need your help on what brand forged pistons that aint too heavy that will get me up and out of hole , mine are down .100 ..
what pistons do I need
how much we need to deck block
and what head gasket to get me MY PERFECT QUENCH OF .040
need around 10.25-1 compression

i use an icon 836 with the edelbrock rpm head. with a clean-up cut on the block quench will be .045-.050 with a felpro 8519 gasket.
 
There is nothing wrong with the KB pistons if you follow the guide lines on the install and there use. If you have a blower or plan on using nitrous then that's not what you want.

i agree with this 100%. i've used the kb pistons and if the instructions that come with the pistons are followed they work fine. in fact my next build will use kb184's; for the third time.
 
my builder just don't want to use the KB's ... looks like we are going with SRP pistons .. will keep ya posted
