Some people can’t write as well as others do. Spell check could be used; maybe some are not aware of it or won’t take the time. We see ‘to’ when ‘too’ should be used or there when ‘their’ should be used. Some like to add a little humor or added zing. I do it to express some friendly overtones. I’m guilty of using LOL too often, though as a means of not coming across too serious. Okay, rarely laughing out loud. Maybe I could use COL – chuckle out loud...is closer. Then I might get questions about it. What’s COL, are you crying out loud? LOL (Oops there I did it again.)

Written communication has disadvantages over verbal, notably causing anger when it’s not intended.

I disagree with your last paragraph. WRITTEN communication leave no doubt as to the subject and to what may be required to do or respond to. Where as VERBAL communications often lead to ambiguity in the interpretation or understanding of the communique......"....well.... he said she said...i thought that what was ment" rule..... If your subject person appears to not underdtsnd your thought or objective that you artrying to convey, you (as the presenter) can/should reiterate your point. The old rule: tell them (your subject ), proceed to tell them, then tell them (your subject) what you told them........(exerpted from Speech 101).....works every time.... . Just my opinion of course.....

I'll add "Just my opinion" to this list. It adds as much value as "just sayin" does.
Everyone knows that it is an opinion. Everyone knows that you just said it. Tell me how adding redundant phrases somehow drives your point home better. It seems more than anything, those two phrases are just attempts to back pedal a bit so one doesn't appear offensive.
Just my opinion and Just sayin seem to be a passive excuse for stating something that someone else may disagree with.
So what if they do?

So when people say in your words "dumb ****" the real joke here is I find by finishing one's reply with more "dumb ****" like "just sayin", it makes the joke on them as they are too dumb normally to understand , but many others do, and for them, I will when appropriate always reserve the right to simply add another layer of "dumb ****" for those incapable of seeing the forest from the trees. When use of sharing "dumb ****" ends., so will my use of "just sayin". I assume we are still allowed to disagree on such matters?
For those who might be confused and/or puzzled I might suggest sincerely asking "why? it's use applies, because it would be a good first step in clearing the air and rectifying any conflict. However, if one is so certain and knows fully well everything on the matter at hand, by all means stick to your guns, nobody has anything here further enlighten you and it's somebody that knows everything ever asks "why".

You seem to overlook that many conflate an opinion' with fact.
IMO that disclosure takes that argument right off the table, that is hugely valuable in a discussion..
The beauty here is everyone is allowed to have an opinion, based an anything, nothing or simply a belief.
NOBODY is required to defend their opinion, but they should not be offended when it's shared to be asked support it.
That is where conflicts begin, because often it's just a belief and not supportable, and that becomes hard to accept for some.
Issues arise when others are forced or intimidated or bullied into accepting another's opinion.

The issue can be how one has written what they want to say. Can be problematic when giving some debate or opinion. We miss the person’s facial expressions, tone of voice, or body language which could be giving a different message. I’ve pissed some people off without intending to and VV. MO

" Just sayin", seems to me to be a relatively new saying. Maybe the last 10 years or so and mainly heard it used on tv. I only use it in jest and never thought people would be irritated by it. I always thought it was meant to say "stating the obvious". I'm old enough to remember when the word "neat" came into use to describe a result, condition, or event. This was replaced by "cool" or "kool" in the '60s. Love it or hate it our language is constantly being changed so these too will be replaced.

i been around here long enuff for ya to know my grammer is not the best. its funny to me that some folks go off the deep end over it. there are way to many other things that we should be pissed about. getting your panties in a nut over some old redneck that can't spell or has the grammer of the WV redneck that i am is a waist of time. yall still get the point of what im trying to say or asking about.
i do think there is more miss understanding in chat than face to face. some words can be taken wrong that way. .... grease or gears baby .. grease or gears. everything else is just noise to me....
and " just saying" is away of backing down after ya stick your foot in ya mouth in the middle of a conversation.

4. Best carb
5. Speaking in entire words not initials or abbreviated words not "dizzy or eddy or va" to receive intelligent responses ask intelligent questions
6. Pick a cam shaft for my stroked 800 cubic in engine for street use
7. Ignition system components, their failure rate; changing to indiscriminate component substitution in search of "blazing horsepower increases"
8. How much ignition advance is best
9. AV Fuel vs pump gas
10. Learn how to use the FBBO SEARCH FUNCTION rather than asking the same/already answered questions over 100x times
Just a few of the myriad of similar questions asked EVERY DAY......just a few thoughts......

While in theory this is excellent advice, sometimes the search function fails to provide any help. Numerous times I have tried looking for old threads of mine using most if not all the same words and titles and the search reveals no matches.
I don’t know much about the nuts and bolts of how a website works but I do wish this one had a better search program.
Often times I have typed in the exact title of a thread and got nothing.
Surely other members have dealt with the same situation.
