What brand of fuel do you use?

Only got 1 choice here, Petro-Canada. They used to be Sunoco & had 94 , got bought out a few years back & now it`s 93. They (the retailers) claim all you need is 87 and i imagine some day that`s all we`ll get with an ethonol mix! I remember 103 & it was pink fuel. Used to burn that in our free air sleds when it was 30 below & they`d go like cut cats! I already carry & use octane boost sometimes, but that`ll probably change to all the time as well, if tree huggers have they way.
A lot of people in the general public want old noisy, gas guzzling, air polluting vehicles off the road for good! I drove my car a whoping 756 miles last year. Up here if it`s 1985 or newer ,you need an emissions test.( if the government, in their infinite wisdom, cranks that back just fifteen years ,me & alot of others are screwed! ) That`s another topic, Sorry for the rant!

I grew up in a family with Oil Co. Engineers,

my Granddad was with Shell Oil for over 50 years,
44 consecutive years after WWII as an Engineer/Marketing/Distribution

my Uncle Ron was with Standard Oil/Chevron for 45 years as a VP & Engineer...

My cousin Mike is a VP of product development engineer for Standard Oil/Chevron
for some 30 years now also...

I used Union 76 as a youth, in most my cruisers, it was the best for performance...
I used VP either Methanol or Racing gasoline in my Racecars...

We don't have most the stations, that are listed there here even...

Now I basically use Shell,
mainly because it's really convenient, the closest station &
I have Shell stock & get dividends in the co. too... pay myself sort of...LOL

My second choice is Chevron only because it's a few miles farther away,
unless I'm going to that area, the other side of town & I need fuel,
then I will fill up at a Chevron station...
I also have stocks in Chevron, my 1st choice there,
it's probably one of my best long term performing stocks & dividends...

Almost all our gas here in Calif. is overpriced/overtaxed &/or plain sucks,
if you want "really good performance gas" here you'll, especially non-ethanol,
then need to add some kind of an additive to it, either way
all our 87, 89 & 91 octane is crap...
Except for a select few stations, that are way to far away, to make it worth it for me...

I use Sunco 112 octane leaded. Ouch Ouch Ouch. 9.16 gal Sonoma Raceway

Chevron 91 / Sunoco 101 mix @7.49 a gal 2 gals at a time mixed with the 91 seems to work well I know there are some mathematics involved here for the octane reading is not what we think it is? Putting 104 booster in your tank of 89 does not give you 104 octane. lol vs putting 101 octane in your tank is 101 octane :)

Basically any 92 or 93 pump from the station I pull in to. I have a Hess near my house that I go to alot as they have good prices. Ron

What octane does the US V-Power have? Here we get 98 octane (RON) which would be equivalent to US AKI 93 or so.

In my perspective - V-Power is produced with smaller variances in octane allowed. One of the big gas brands here in Sweden varies between 95.5 and 98.7 (RON measured) on their "98 Octane Gas" which isn't acceptable. V-power is guaranteed 98+ (RON measured).

this stuff " for unleaded fuel additive" is supposedly good seen the guys on
{spike TV} Powernation use it, in dyno testing allot & they swore by it,
I haven't needed it in my build "yet", mine runs fine on 91 oct. so far "knock on wood"

http://race-gas.com/

2 ozs to each gallon adds 4 full octane numbers, good for

add 5 ozs per gallon in 91 octane it would be 101 octane

kind pricey for daily driver use, but good if you need just a bump,
it's far better/far cheaper than destroying the engine, from detonation
or don't want to have to run retarded ignition settings constantly,
resulting in killing all the bottom end power & sacrificing the drivability
& if you don't want to pay $7+-$16+ a gallon, for racing gas all the time

$29.99 for a 32 oz can, $179.99 for a case of 6

I find the cheapest no alcohol with highest octane. It's usually Sinclair nearby.

Burned the formula!!! Grandpa Munster has invented a new instant gasoline pill... fill the tank with water, add the pill, and poof, instant gasoline.

Boy how we could have used his formula now!
