I can see moving it, but not deleting posts, or entire threads. I wasn’t aware the political forum even had an entry requirement, so you can see I rarely get involved in that arena. I incorrectly assumed the thread in question had been deleted, hence this post.

The thread got switched to the PF because either someone complained or a moderator felt it was getting political due to the usual few who can dish it out but cant take it.
You accused the moderator of having no backbone to support free speech. Then I can assume the same towards the site owner. I would suggest you discuss your grievances with them privately rather then lash out publicly.

IMO the political forum, has it's place here
plenty of good knowledgeable members frequent it
& get along just fine

it also helps keep "most the political stuff" in a separate section
everything seem political today, some "select few" make it that way too

it's only "a select few" that turn these threads 'to ****'
they take **** personal or turn it political on purpose
to make it get moved, they know it will be or report it after they do it
or result to personal insults frequently
& it's the same "select few" people always

This is the general discussion forum
means all topics, "that's if people stay civil" & not try to turn it political

there's plenty of threads on here
by all that can go political easily, that don't

it's always 'a select few', if they don't like the subject or disagree
or seemingly get all butt-hurt, have a different ideology etc.
get all bent out of shape over someone's 'personal views'
even when it's not insulting or political,
it result to 'ague like a butt-hurt 3rd grader' constantly

Then it has to be cencored or moved
(to keep the peace, it's like herding cats, for the Mods)
or the 'select few bitch & moan' & have the thread deleted all together
or start insulting each other, everyone is entitled to their own opinion
without someone, forcing their views or ideology on you
or saying what they think is completely wrong, all the time, every time...

you may not agree with it & you don't have to comment either

you don't even have to read the thread, it's a choice, just like life

you can just go to another thread, it's not that tough
there's literally thousands of them to chose from

it's those 'select few' that take it way too far, all the damn time

you don't like someone 'ignore them', it's a great feature we all have

It's not about 'one' individual.....but several. Months ago the political comments got so spread out over the forum that just a simple mention about political party ties would snowball into a huge pig pile of political crap so the rules got enforced is all. Just can't go pissing all over someone's living room and the site is no different. if you or anyone for that matter comes into my home talking like a drunken jerk or talkin about crap that's against my rules, you will be deleted

I agree but like mentioned above, politics were flowing into too many other forums. Protecting you by moving political commentary (or any mention of politics) to the appropriate forum? No....just protecting the integrity of the site....and the bosses orders

Understandable, however, I didn’t view that thread as political when I last posted in it. Maybe it became that way and that’s why it was moved? It definitely wasn’t car oriented but that’s what the general forum is for. Maybe the political forum should be simply called “Offensive Off Topic” forum?

Just the term 'liberal' or 'conservative' will make one of us move the thread to the political forum. There's a sticky about it too and has been up for awhile.....

Also, it's not censorship imo....just house keeping.

I wasn’t lashing out. I was stating my opinion on censorship... publicly. I directed it to the site owner as I assume he gives direction to the moderators. I’m not the type to constantly bitch and whine, and anything I have to say, can be said in front of all. Those who have to do things behind the backs of others can’t be trusted as I once was told.

My comments in that thread were deleted, because at the time it was in the general section. It has since been moved to political, so people can say what they think.

i dunno,i kind of agree a tiny bit with you hemirunner.
that political forum is Full of fire and brimstone...not always a happy place to visit.
it does irritate me that the topics start off like they should out here in General chat,
and yet someone always gets it moved into the politics.

You guys could start a discussion about old grass clippings and for some strange reason, all it takes is one reply and it's gone political. It just happens! Why people do it is beyond me, I guess they have respect and just don't care for other people? I'm surprised the topic stayed in GD as long as it did being the discussion that it was.​

You made a accusation about somebody. Just look at the last few posts and what they say. Its gotten to the point, a member can take the position to disagree and be subject to these attacks. I have to wonder what these few and im not saying you what kind of empty lives they live.
I happen to agree the thread should not have been moved but its not my call and now that is it the PF im for the most part done with it

It takes more than one political mention when I happen across it. Usually try to clean it up and save it but after I have to spend more time than it's worth cleaning things up, it gets moved.

Yup....and when members start lasing out at other members and name calling.....that's addressed in the rules too.

It all depends upon how I feel at the end off the day. Some discussions I just ignore others just get to dam stupid not to. Some times things are even worth while. There are also some forms I have no interest in. Then there are people that think they can put stuff in any form they feel like and should always get positive results. Just saying if you want a particular out come from a particular crowd don't post in general forms. Yea just my opinion.
