Those who have to do things behind the backs of others can’t be trusted as I once was told.

I came to the party late on the thread in question, but I can assure you that a while ago, there was a very clear message broadcast for everyone to see. It basically warned everyone that any political references in a non-political thread would be deleted without further warnings. As the problem was getting out of hand, it was the easiest way to deal with the situation.

Maybe that is what happened on the thread in question. Sorry you felt aggrieved at what has happened, but fair warnings were given quite some time ago. Signing up for the Political Forum is for a very good reason - it means you fully understand the consequences of being involved there. It also means that the general public cannot see what is being written there - giving some protection for people commenting.

Being a Moderator is not really about censorship at all. It is more to do with enforcing the few simple site rules, and keeping the peace. It also enables the site owner to concentrate his efforts into site development, and takes the load of reading every thread himself away from keeping the site software running as it should.

You guys could start a discussion about old grass clippings and for some strange reason, all it takes is one reply and it's gone political. It just happens! Why people do it is beyond me, I guess they have respect and just don't care for other people? I'm surprised the topic stayed in GD as long as it did being the discussion that it was.​

Just an example of what can get your post deleted.
Can I put any size tire I want in a stock wheel well. If the answer is not yes and the PO gets offended with your answer expect it then to be deleted. This is how bad things have gotten.
