Progress report, Junkyard Dog

Thanks Will, I'm really enjoying watching your work, meticulous as I thought it would be!

Hey ditto Matt! You got some top notch work going on there in Detroit yourself. Already got parts of this thread saved over to a word format on my computer for reference when I get to those parts of my project.

Thanks again for the tip on the "Blair" spot weld cutters. Those things work great! I ended up tossing my old ones from Eastwood in the garbage can.

Also, do you need the front leaf spring mount area for your Roadrunner. I ordered the rear two piece set from AMD and ended up with the rears and the front. The good part is I only got charged for the rear. Told me to keep the others. You can have them if you want. We'll call it even considering all the time and gas you spent meeting me down in Detroit to scope out Jeff's Roadrunner

Keep up the good work!

Thanks Will for the offer on the spare parts, but I am all set with the ones that were original to my car, one of the few things that will remain original to the "DOG", that and the roof!!:rolling::rolling::rolling::rolling::rolling::rolling::sad:
You don't owe me anything dude, accept maybe a cold beer when you motor up here for the Woodward Dream Cruise in August!.:eek:ld_school::beerchug:

LOL.......I'm thinking you should have some "matt" emblems made up for the car seeing plymouth is not really the one who built it anymore:grin:

What weekend is that going on in August? Heading out to Wyoming for bit of mountain climbing, backpacking and trout fishing in the Big Horns come August, but maybe I could make it flow all together.

Third weekend in August. That Wyoming trip sounds great, is that an annual vacation?, family thing, or a trip with the boys?.
No Matt emblems, but in one way or another the "JUNKYARD DOG" graphic will be in the finished product, not sure how yet, maybe etched into the quarter glass, embroidered into the seats or done very gohstly into the paint.

Matt, you have a front spring mount, really, and you want to sell it/get rid of it? Humm, I need the front left mount assy!

Those "Junkyard dog" ideas sounds pretty sweet Matt! Can't wait to see what you come up with. The Wyoming bit is a VayKay my little brother and I try to take anually to loose civilization for about a week. Nothing better than being able to have a completly clear mind with no worries except trying to decide if a guy should go fishing, take a hike, or just park it at the base of an old alpine and take it all in....Life is good

We're planning on heading out the weekend of the 14th. I'll have to see if we can split a bit early to head over

Donny,
I actually have the spare set of front leaf spring frame mounts left/right. They're the frame tie in and not the box mount that ties into the front leaf spring mount. See pic below:

Let me know if this is what you are looking for.....Sorry to dance on your thread Matt. Just figured Donny would be coming back here to check your reply....

Hey Donny,

I'll make you a deal. You send up some of your local favorite Texas Barbeque
Sauce, and i'll send down both mounts for you and we'll call it even. After spending a stint there in the military, sure haven't had much as far as good barbeque since.

Just PM over your address

In a way I feel violated:blush:, on the other hand I'm glad I could provide you with the real estate to pedal your wears and it will cost you a jar of bbq sauce!

Yes, parts for BBQ sauce...it's my new business adventure..LOL. Thanks for being cool about the thread walking.

Question for you, I did get in a new upper cowl in. The old one is not too bad but the vent slots are all mangled up and is dented up where someone used a screwdriver or pry bar to remove the wiper arms. Is this a pretty hard part to remove? Any tricky areas? As far as installation, can I expect fit up and alignment to go pretty easy or should I start taking key measurements and make up some templates?

Thanks for your help

Kansas City BBQ is the only BBQ :grin::grin::grin: what parts do you have i need :grin::grin:

Kansas City BBQ now thats some good eats. And that is officially the first time i have seen someone trade BBQ for car parts.

He'll love Rudy's BBQ sauce, I'm salivating right now, headed there for lunch tomorrow, and pick up some for Propwash. Was the cowel question directed at me? If so, there are about 100 spot welds on the cowel, cut 'em out with spotweld drillbit, screwdriver will work fine to pry it off. Good luck!

Donny, 2 words, "Ironworks BBQ", I think I have the name right, it is by the convention center. I used to go there when I did the auto show in San Antonio and I loved it. Love the whole town. Nope!, what am I thinking that was Austin! Ok, what about that Irish bar on the river walk, at the base of the Hilton I believe, with the piano players and all the singing and drinking and peanuts and drinking!.
