Progress.

Me and dad have started on the blue truck. We have the engine almost out. ice storm came and powers out phones about to die.. I changed my mind on the grille.. man I wish this white truck was a k10 with those gmc dog dish wheels with a 4 inch lift and 35 vintage co op tires.. it’s got heat and window shield wipers now. I’ll update..

Trying to get Bosco in the picture. But we are past this about to have the engine out..:

Brand new evaporator, fan motor, some electronics, the air switches work through low to high.. it’s got heat. Dad wants to put a new compressor for cold air on it because it’s got a suburban compressor that came with the motor for more space… we are past this on the blue truck. While dad was at work I got the intake off, and manifolds unbolted, serpentine system off, bolts cateloged together in baggies taped to each part… I lost about three bolts and they re the manifold bolts.. what’s wild is the hardest bolt to get it wasn’t there-from factory someone didn’t put the bolt in… so far the paint can withstand a pressure washer.. you see we got the plastic piece under where the windshield wipers are… windshield wipers work and windshield pump and sprayer for cleaning the window.. we have to get flaps for the inner fender wells.. we have a condenser but its universal… we going to get a new brake booster… I will convert this truck one day to a k20 I think if it’s possible..

The truck has a lot of small chips I have to repair after doing a frame off and stripping it it’s hard to make every thing stick when using a ratchet banging it against paint dropping bolts so so far a lot of paints that been hit has stuck…
I guess I’ve done a good job-I hear to strip a car depending on size it’s 5000 dollars without paint just to strip it… what I tried to do was a 20000 dollar paint job professionally-I believe my paint job is worth 7500 because almost everything is down to one coat of paint very rare in this day in time I believe…
with about 100 to 125 chips underneath all around I think so far I did a good job the hood and fenders not done well in paint chips waves bondo you can see scratches I think it’s a 7500 dollar paint job in this inflationary world a good 7500 driver paint job frame off..

This challenger I will never sell like the white truck to attached to em-the feelings I’ve had with em… the challenger I believe is a 1 of 1, a feeling some people have with r code e bodies- I have that feeling with this car except it’s depressive pride trying to make it better well it’s because it’s the only one I’ve ever found on the internet that has pictures of welded up vin codes or a replacement firewall with someone saying the truth ,makes me feel like my car is a gold mine but a car that can hurt the restoration market so it’s one of those cars to just keep and never sell because it hurts everyone who’s interested in these cars… this car viewed by millions of people will cripple the market…
living in a greedy world I
just can’t believe my car is the only car out there… people who are criminals in this day in time are just like the criminals in the old days-they stole cars.. where is a internet website where you can find a list of stolen classic cars in the 50s 60s 70s-car Fox didnt exist and police just impounded them and resold em when the person didn’t want the car back
so their are probably 1-3 percent of these old cars that are stolen blending into society being sold for 80000 dollars…

Stuff I bought for the 1985 Sierra classic long wheel base… I messed up put a new carb on it thought I cleaned the tank out well I learned something.. my dad said it’s best to replace the tank before you put a new carburetor on it… I had to take a brand new 400 dollar carburetor apart and clean it.. I got this this here should make it drivable… it runs and drives but carb gummed up.. I got new gas latches that hold the gas tank up.. I’m going to scuff up the underneath take frame paint you can paint over rust scuff the rust paint it…the tilt steering wheel is rebuilt… internet slow so it’s hard to upload pictures…

dad was right a bar is where you find yourself what I needed when’s drinking alone especially a seniors bar when your my age at 30 going through what I’m going through.. I advice someone who’s my age going through a lot to go to seniors bar they re usually smarter and knows more about life than people my age…

This is what dad is going to do with his engine he doesn’t like the 8 cylinder cut off to 4 cylinder… hes got 240000 miles on the ole truck. The truck is burning oil you have to put 2 quarts in it every month or two… it’s got 30 pounds of pressure in number 1… my dad is going to keep it matching numbers…

Some deals I remember… ‘396’ camaro with rust problems ran last season with a rust free body camaro all for that price two cars.. but he didn’t have long details or pictures to express if it was matching numbers or not.. I noticed the 396 badges he didn’t show the engine so it might have been a 350 car.. but running last season.. one of those ads where I didn’t know much about the car but if it was a 396 car that is a dang good deal… the blazer I would have bought here.

This is the cone sure grip I got awhile back look very clean the axles gears look aligned I don’t know if it’s got shims but if it don’t it worth a lot of money to me.. got the gas tank in, psi the tank with a air compressor to get the fuel going.. have to replace the fuel pump. Reverse light work tail lights work front lights work but I have high beams in the wrong place with the low beams.. have to get 3m tape and find a good gmc logo for the grill.. seems the gmc logo for 89-91 is in a protected market right now like other parts like a lot of rare e body parts like tri power big block Chevy intakes… I believe america should have protected markets where no repops are made..

Tomorrow the big day for the ole blue 1985 c10-the first day on the road. Vacuum modular gas to be hooked up tomorrow for it to shift.. hopefully the governer isn’t bad. It runs and drives but so far only on stands in first gear so tomorrow will be the first day on the road in along time for the old truck.…
My dad said before I drive it it needs a new transmission filter and pan cleaned out because of fear of puddles of muck fluid cycling through the transmission after years of it sitting… so I cleaned the transmission pan(it was puddles of muck) and replaced the filter put a new gasket on with silicon on each side of the gasket.. Got the fuel pump in I don’t have a picture thou. My dad is worried that the oil has sat for so long it’s created puddles of muck in the oil pan that can create high cholesterol in a engine same as a transmission creating a blood clot or oil clot especially in the filter ha… but yea..

This is a 350 turbo pan as you can tell..

code 29 and code 17 blue and silver touch up paint for the truck found on the spid code.. got 17 code but didn’t take a picture of it.. it’s a interesting two tone truck so I want to keep it the same color… I’m going to make this paint job as cheap as possible like my black truck. I’m going to hit the rust spots and loss of paint area with ruff sandpaper to fine and then use touch up paint(hopefully spend 400-500).. I want to put new trim on.
hopefully I can save the blue thats still visible on the truck with 1500(it’s probably dirty in the paints micro world from sitting in the rain for so long so that’s why so ruff)-2000 grit paper. i bought a passenger side glass for a amazing deal with unbelievable shipping…

When we put the passenger glass in we are going to see what we need to get the power windows operating..

I can’t find chrome headlight bezels for the white truck right now and I’m thinking the white truck needs front black chrome bumperettes like the ones on the two tone blue truck I got.. One thing I like about the c10 market is I don’t have to think originality so much because they made millions of these.. to me a market thats got millions of vehicles over a span of 14 years probably has tens of millions of parts in it…
to me c10s isn’t like the 1970-71 challenger market to me-to me protected market parts that are the 70-71 car parts is a gold mine long after the baby boomers fade away I guess but I don’t know…
I think the 70-71 challengers are a market that will always have market staying power long after the baby boomers are all gone because the millennial and gen z generations is buying a identical body style almost..

440 six pack car go mango going on right now. Doesn’t have matching engine and transmission.

A running 1967 gto 4 speed car.. if that 4 speed is complete bell housing everything it’s worth 4000 by itself.. a running engine means it’s rebuildable… seats are in nice condition and seems to be mostly 90 percent of interior parts which add up when you don’t have it all.. I’ve seen 1967 gtos with not many parts no engine no transmission at this price…

Hey y’all just think the original title from 1967-that’s fringes of rarity I wouldn’t even won’t to get ride of the title at the dmv… parts is what’s expensive here like that 427 tri power corvette… the thing about that 427 tri power corvette is it was matching numbers so it probably had the m22 rockcrusher it had a 427 4 bolt main and not no tall deck 427 had the tri power intake the carburetors it’s like getting a 18 spline transmission 440v code matching numbers to it with the tri carbs and intake… still to me this is a fair deal at buy it now with the original title from 1967 that’s collectibility there..

We got the 5.3 out. We found out why we had to pull this ole trucks motor we are attached to to much- number one had 30 psi it all makes sense now 1 is apart of the afm 8 cylinder cut off to 4 so this truck was running off 3 cylinders in 6 speed and start up .. my dad would drive it in manual 5 to avoid 6 speed… it wasn’t a collapsed lifter.. when dad takes this 5.3 to the machine shop I’m sending the 1967 440 and 915 heads to have redone… and during this motor I understand why I like 440s so much compared to these-they made millions of these with sleeves.. it’s not .60 over and it’s done.. it’s a flood of 5.3s on the market that in 30 years will beable to be built by just replacing sleeves they won’t ever be rare to find and build…
