Oh yeah the project/parts car I got a week ago 71 se 318 auto floor shift bucket seat car. For some reason i thank the scoops are cool. Okay so I'm not sure will the froot bumper hideaway lights hood and rally gage cluster and steering column and floor shift bolt right up to the 73? Love the old school craigers may sand blast and get the bends out of the lips

Welcome . And yes all the parts you mentioned will go right into the 73 plus switch out the rear bumper brackets and it will move your bumper in a inch or two and you can get rid of the molding on top that is 99% junk most of the time makes the car look better too in my opinion

I never recommend this mod to anyone. That space is there for a reason, that being when someone backs into you the energy from the impact is directed into the bumper instead of into the sheet metal. I learned that lesson at a car show in Maryland years back when a guy with a trimmed in bumper backed into a light pole. Just a light tap, nothing major, but did about $1,000 bucks worth of damage to his quarter. A couple years before I had a drunk impact my rear bumper and slide along the edge of it. It opened his Honda's sheet metal from front to back like a can opener, but my bumper worked as designed, absorbed all the energy, and no damage.

In 71-72 cars that's exactly how it is and they all did fine . To each his own though .

I use to do some hunting around that area. I lived in St. Matthews outside of Louisville for 4 years. And my folks lived in Florence so I drove through there quite often.

Some progress pics. The car was alot more rusty than I had hoped fenders are both pretty bad and can't find any anywere. I'm replacing both quarters, truck extensions, wheel houseing, driver floor pan, and a bunch of little patches. I've decided on house of colors voodoo vilote for the body color. Thanks for all the welcomes and good vibes guys. Can't wait to be cursing this summer

I hate to say it, but the 71 is worth more with full quarters avail. Even if you want to keep the 73, maybe dad should hold on to the 71?

Oh yeah I was told the car was a matching number car but pulled this 1969 318 out from it. I thought the reman sticker was pretty cool. Someone put a cam in it has a pretty sound to it

Yeah the 71 is next In line. It would be worth more but I don't sell cars i build them. The dream for it is a daytona/superbird that never existed because NASCAR changed the rules and do it with a new hemi and coilovers. Make it a pro touring car

Sounds like you are off to a good start, just be careful not to dig yourself in too deep with mods.
