ok so you have a handle underneath the buttons. something to grab onto that's what I couldn't wrap my brain around. You would have to have something to hold onto. Thank you DVW Floor mats went flying!
The reason I'm asking is when I launch and get thrown back into my bench seat, it's a little tough depressing the buttons hard enough where i'm missing my shift by about 200-300 rpm's.

Snaggle don't reply.
No handle. I just make sure I wrap my fingers against the dash bezel. Yes the amazing flying floor mat. I never noticed it on a run. It's amazing what you can learn through video.ok so you have a handle underneath the buttons. something to grab onto that's what I couldn't wrap my brain around. Move the seat a little closer to the controls if you cannot reach.
And I'm, real curious...what the hell is a Snaggle???
There are 2 different single pin neutral safety switches. The white plastic one and the steel one. One is longer than the other. The threaded portion of the switch can contact the rooster comb. Easy to see with the pan off. I never realized this until 2 years ago. Caused me a ton of grief. Note to "Blackburn" as far as racing with a push button, its no problem, S/S racer , my son and I all race and win with push button shifters. All of these cars run in the 8-9 second range.

No need to dis them...
Their cars are legendary factory race cars too
Some are only legend in their own mind!!!!Am I one of them too?
A place called Imperial Services did make an adapter to do exactly that, but I think the Obama-conomy took them out.......I respect the guys who run and use the push buttons as they are cool in the cars of that era. Myself I left the push buttons in my car but use a newer 1970 trans so I use a floor shifter. I build my own tranny's and it was cheaper to build the newer 1970 trans for my car and thats why I went that way. I would use the push buttons if I could but as far as I know they wont work with the newer trans and no one makes anything to make them work with the newer trans. But I do think its great that many of these guys use the push buttons. Ron
