True, guess everything has pro's and con's.
Also comes down to people experiences i guess as you just proofed with that story.

Thanks for your advice and the links. I have the basic, bare bones alternator. I put it on after I discovered the previous alternator was not matched to the car and was the culprit for a number of issues years ago. If I have any more problems I'll look into a proper up-grade. All the best.
