Radiator bushings

About to put my radiator in. I never did have the original, but I found a 26" numbers correct radiator. My car was factory with the 440 and RAM Air hood, but the 26" radiator does not seem to line up with the holes I have. Wouldn't a 69 Coronet R/T come with a 26" radiator?

Also, did these things bolt directly to the metal or did they have some type of bushing between them like my newer vehicles.

In my 69 RR and 70 Super Bee, the radiator is held to the support with 4 small bolts. The support framework has nuts welded to it, and the bolts go right in to those. Seems like the 2 bottom bolt holes on the radiator are open on the bottom end. So you can just loosen them and slide the radiator straight up to remove it. Top 2 bolts need to be removed completely. I haven't seen any bushings on any of them.

Your car could very well be set up for a 22" radiator.

No bushing. The flanged sides go right against the core support and the bolts used are 1/4-20 with the big captured washer.

Thanks for the feedback. I have been entertaining putting something between the radiator and core support just because I can. I have some extra padding that is normally used to go on the heater core tubes before it comes out the firewall. I was thinking of cutting them in half and using one with each bolt.

Maybe I should just bolt it up. I have two upper holes I think will work, but I will have to drill at least one hole to get the 26" to fit. Hard to believe it didn't come with a 26" radiator.
