Hello Everyone, here is the latest update on my radiator problems.
Tom's Radiator called me Thursday last week with 3 options:

1. $295: Disassemble complete, clean out all old solder joints, bead blast all components, re-assemble using my original core, solder back together, pressure test, re-paint.

2. $750: Same as above, but using brand new Standard Cooling 4 Row Core.

3. $850: Same as above, but using brand new High Efficiency Cooling 4 Row Core.

My original core is in pristine condition, so I am going with Option # 1.

The radiator will be ready this week for pick-up, I will install this coming weekend, and I'm back on the road again !!
Thanks for listening and commenting on this post, appreciate all the input.

Here is the link to Tom's Radiator if anyone is interested, PIC of business card too.

Hope the solution you chose works out well for you. Let us know if so !

Fewer and fewer each year, unfortunately. I had a guy in N KY that recorded my 62 radiator back in 04ish. Still going strong. He is now out of business.
Having a radiator shop (name unknown) that performs, great guaranteed work, several years ago, and is now out of business...means NOTHING.......???....why say anything?? Just my opinion....

Opinions are like ********. Everyone has one.

Did your shop explain to you what the high-efficiency cooling is?

I agree with you....One never hears about low efficiency or average efficiency...only HIGH EFFICIENCY......WHY IS THIS? Efficiency is expressed as a percentage of a 100%.....or heat transfer capability in terms of Btu/Hr at a given temperature or flow velocity....not low to high efficiency without proof to compare against a value......the shop never explains.....they try and dazzle the customer with BS and assume that person is stupid and won't ask....... just my opinion.....

It always makes me wonder why people lash out at others for no apparent reason, hope all is well Bob. also took your advice and put some money into the homestead and planted 15 Norway spruce with my granddaughters, 4 and 7. Will be great memories someday, actually already are.

Gotta love the true radiator shops that are still around.
Few and far between. Mine went kaput years ago, after having utilized his expertise for decades. Nowadays, it's replace the radiator with another Chinapart.

And make sure to use a brand new cheap quality cap that doesn't relieve pressure at the desired pressure. Unintended proof pressure test of the radiator and cooling system!

Installed the new radiator this past weekend, and took a nice test drive for about an hour, no leaks !!
Radiator looks good, and works perfect.

I did new coolant, new upper and lower hoses (although I didn't need too),
a new thermostat (probably didn't need that either), (2) new 13 # radiator caps, and new drain petcock.

I'm now at 175 - 180 on the temp gauge, used to be around 185 - 190.
(although it was a cool day, temps in the 60's here for the test drive, we'll see what happens when it's a CA hot summer day)

I'm very happy with the quality of the rebuild, and highly recommend Tom's Radiator in Orange, CA, if you need radiator or heater core help.
Thanks for all the comments guys and gals, much appreciated, and happy driving to you !!

PIC's are : (1) New radiator, (2) no radiator in car waiting for new one, (2) after installation and Happy Time...No Leaky !!!

See ya everyone !!!

I'm happy with the one I put into my 67. Just need the correct, for the radiator, shroud. The shops that have survived are the ones dealing with industrial, Ag etc. work. Just need to seek them out.

After the fact, but here's another quality manufacturer of radiators that I can personally recommend:
Griffin Performance Aluminum Radiators
Their "exact fit" series is a whole step up from any other aftermarket unit I've ever encountered.
Cured a whole lot of ills in Fred when I installed it (after recommendation of Professor Ehrenberg).
