That’s why I answered it. It doesn’t matter what fluid as it works fine UNLESS there is a precipitation event and temps drop. Prestone De-icer did not help that’s good to -34 which is overkill here in Pa. I believe it is a bleeding back allowing water to enter then freeze actually vacuuming water into the system. I think the check valve will hopefully solve my problem…Exactly. That's why I asked earlier about what kind of fluid was causing the issue. Most will only protect to 15 or 20°. Think about it fellas. WTF happens to a small opening the size of a tag wire and a rubber hose exposed to 0° temps at 60 mph. Use your head!
I did try that with the same result.This stuff never failed me when I lived in upstate New York. Also, had a spray bottle of it so I could get the doors open.
The heated w/s washer nozzles were nice too.

I'm going to check up on that now that I see how cold you guys get...it is German made, so I assumed it was good for really cold temperatures.Sold!

Cause that is what we are heading for in WI in a day or two.
My Chevy doesn't have this issue, but my Dakota is very sensitive to it. Almost like it loses prime in the cold months, and when it is real winter it just doesn;t work.
Of course, Dodge in the 90's it's like they built the trucks in the south and never tested them up north. My 2001 half ton wouldn't go into overdirve in the winter when it was really cold. Turns out that was a feature, it was programmed right in there said it right in the owner manual lol. The Magnum engines are a tad cold blooded too when it gets to real winter outside, like in January. I just let the Dakota run for 5 minutes before I leave, used to do it with the half ton also. They always start, just act like the ECU isn;t sure what to do for fuel for the first bit until the O2 sensor warms.
