Lot of fire trucks are not geared to sustain 70-75 mph on the highway. They usually do not go far. Anything with a old mechanical diesel will pretty much be standing on the fuel pedal the whole time you are on the highway, as in all the way to the floor for hours. Gas motor will be the same but you will never make 70 mph unless down hill.
Still would make a cool truck, better if it was set down over a pre emissions late model school bus chassis

GMC had a v12, with four cylinder heads, basically two of their v6s, paired up.
702 cu in, two v6 intake manifolds, built from 1960-1965, for commercial trucks.

Edit: could be a swap into a 1950 firetruck. But most likely not. Probably the American LaFrance v12.
