hi all, anyone know where to get the bracket that the license plate holder attaches too? its a curved bracket that mounts to the bumper where the license plate light bracket mounts too, and then bends around to provide two mounting holes for the folding license plate. I got one from eBay but it is not quit right. I need this to function as I need to be able to get to my fuel knick without.

thanks

It gets two 7/16” bolts throught the bumper holes to catch the J nuts the license bracket should get.

Tight to fit with the license light assembly in the middle.

sorry, I am not understanding. there is the license plate, the bracket for the license plate to attache too (4 screws) and it has the spring assembly on it that attaches to another bracket that goes to the bumper. The bracket that goes from the bumper to the plate bracket with the spring that allows you to pull up the plate and access the fuel neck is what I am looking for. or any solution to maintain the functionality of the play being lifted up and accession the fuel neck will suffice.

Thanks

Check the pic I probably posted while you quoted me. Note the top ends with the screws attached and look closely the license plate assembly it gets two J nuts. These are catched by the mentioned bolts throught the bumper holes

what Dows the other side of the plate bracket look like? that is not what mine looks like
that from a 72 charger?

This assembly is upsided down but I hope you can see how should look from behind… bolt ends are visible

Both are 73/74, but pretty sure 71/72 are the same (diff should be just on bottom bracket, 73/74 is wider)

that black part is what I need, it is not on my license plate holder

Well… you need to get another assembly then. Easier than get just the part you are searching

THat bracket looks different then Nacho's I think I recall what mine looked like and it looked like Nacho's. Side question though... what kind of bumper is that?
What he is showing is just the bracket you “need” (said “need” because is not exactly the same but similar). Per I have understood you got just the license plate tray with the spring. I never have seen the curved bracket being sold separately but just used on full asssemblies.

I do not see anyone online providing that full assembly.

Just used as just said.

Plymouth. 71 RR as he mentions.

But uses a SIMILAR Charger license plate assembly.

Maybe your lucky day

Note this top provisions are wider. Mostly sure it also meets with light bracket provisions, so will need to remove light bracket and attach both at the same time, or license bracket first, then the light

Must be a 71/72 thing. 73/74 is easier without those wider provisions.

There are couple more on eBay but more expensive.

Check the sales section here. Or post a wanted ad.

I bought this one a few months ago and it doesn’t quite fit. Need the one you have but can not find it

Is the one you need. Maybe didn’t fit because it gets the wider screws provisions, meeting with rear license light assembly. Did you have the light bracket in place when trying to fit that? You need to remove the light assembly, fit the license plate assembly, then the light over the plate assembly.

OR you can cut those extra area/surface and fit it like 73/74s

I went through an old video of me taking the car apart and this is what it looked like. Picture below. The one you provided from eBay will not work. If I place the license plate bracket on the bottom two round rubber stops the bracket I have today is way higher than the number. Not allowing me to attach it. Not clear on why so different. Yes have a light bracket there as well.

This is what I mean

Did you tried with light assembly in place?

73/74s (or at least those 73/74 I have worked on) doesn’t have that extra surface on license bracket, so I can install without deal with the light.

The only difference is try to fit with or without light in place. That’s all.

I would buy the one 71beeper has but the bumper in the picture looks super aftermarket. So I risk it does not fit.
