I have to sit down and try to process this.

Recaro, the Car World's Famous Seat Maker, Files for Bankruptcy

The German company has long provided seats to many of the world's best-known automakers.

B---nKanomics, strikes again...

seems like they were overpriced
for their demographic for a Loooooooong, Loooooooooooooong time

Recaro is "factory" in a lot of new cars these days....well, they were anyways.

Their aerospace seat group is huge and has not made any money ever I think.

I looked up price when I had my 94 Mustang back some years ago(sold to boy now). I did a full LOL at cost, WITHOUT brackets(not full brackets, brackets to adapt onto factory adjusters) and got some take outs from a guy at Iola for $100 instead. That was like 9 years ago now I think.

Thing is, with inflation and such over the last 20 years, they probably weren't gouging anyone. It probably cost that much to make something better then chinese "moto racer" seats all the kiddies buy for their fast and furious fart pipe ricer.

No one can compete with slave labor in China. If McDonald's could get a burger here from China in 5 minutes, they would cost $1.57 and that would end our new manufacturing sector replacement, burger flippers.... You know, our new career jobs.

I found two Recaro seats (original mesh head restraint design) taken from an rx-7 in my dumpster.
Similar to these but with gray inserts and no script.
They are in surprisingly good shape.
