Refresh the shop/man-cave

and it's been very clear from the start that it's not her shop... I'll take the grief

Famous last words...first washing apples in the sink, next you'll have doilies under your tool box and coasters under your beer.

Stripper pole would be a great if you can pull it off. Great combo, naked women dancing around the '64 while on the turntable. I'd go to that bar!

So will you let us all know when "opening night" is so we can all show up and christen the new shop bar ? ? ?

Gotta make sure that the thing is broken in right . . .

LOL!!! ABSOLUTELY!!!!

Finishing up the little amount of framing for the compressor room and starting to set electrical. I've done so much of this remodeling crap over the past 30 years it's not fun anymore. I did keep all my tools from when I had the business so at least I don't have to fumble around with the wrong tool. I'll post a couple shots later...

Rick is shooting the ceiling a heavy mica gray "aluminum". the horizontal studs in the framing above the bathroom is so I can keep the screw line the same all the way around the shop at the eve's with out guessing where the panel seams will land in that area. I also didn't tie in the corners because I'm going to "round" the metal on the outside corner. That upper framing is set back about 10" to allow for a shelf area. It will also give a reveal in case I find an old Dodge Dealership sign to mount up there. The small room to the right is where the compressor will go. Electrical is what it is... abandon circuits, new circuits, blah, blah.... i picked up a sheet of metal to use as a sample to match the ceiling metallic paint. tacked it on the wall to get an idea of what it will look like finished.

:sSig_goodjob:looking real good :headbang:

An update on the shop. Got the north wall done, it's a little slow going when you hang the metal by yourself. Plus you need to cut out for all the outlets and switches. And I was out west last week for business. The cabinets are scheduled for delivery next wednesday. The green light will be over the desk area. That light has been with me for about 20 years and 5 different houses. I think it will stay there for a while.

I love those old fashioned light fixtures 2059! Great job on the metal work too

Thanks TH... Here are a couple more close-ups. It's in really good shape other than the chip out of the porcelain canopy. I rewired it years ago. I wanna say it's from the '40s to '50s. You usually see them hanging over a garage or shop entrance, which is where I always had it on the other houses.
Or sometimes illuminating a small business sign. And of course you likely won't find anything with "Made in USA" cast in the head anymore. The eyelet in the head is for a guy wire that I'll eventually run back to the wall with a turn buckle. Mostly for looks, it won't need the support since it's out of the wind.

Who needs a house with a shop like that...that is very, very nice....good work.

That's going to be a nice place to hang out when it's done.

No kidding . . . that's why I asked if he was looking for a renter ! ! ! ( SMILE ) Love your shop ( I'm so jealous . . . )

Where did you get the material for the walls?

A local barn metal shop, Ramco. Any local place worth it's weight can order it for you. It's light gauge, galvanized 2' wide siding. comes in 8', 10', and 12' lengths.

If I had a shop like that, i'd be in it 23 out of 24 hrs.

Funny, on the weekend I am. which is why DW gets a little disgusted with me. Take time for dinner and Church and that's about it...

I have the shop toilet for you! Wall Mount pull chain stamped ACME!

THAT, SIR; WOULD BE AWESOME!!

Pulled the circuit for the compressor and tied it in. finished the overheads and the LED's for the sink/apple/veggie washing area. moved the cars back into the shop and will hang the rest of the metal this week. I have a stainless CNC Flame valence coming to hang under the overhead that will be back lit by the led's under the cabinets.
