We had 2 of them in the Sacramento area.
Their ads in the 80s were all about BF Goodrich Radial T/As...Erson cams, Mallory ignitions..
I was still a Chevy guy back then. You could dang near rebuild a 350 with a weeks pay with parts from those guys.

Years ago I did business locally with S&K, Speed Equipment World, and mail order with Gratiot, Honest Charley, and yes JC Whitney.

You'd call them and EVERY clerk would say something long winded like.....
Thank you for calling Super Shops, the home of the $ 39.99 Radial T/A, we will beat anyones price on tires, how can I help you....?

Sounds like our local Arby's drive through. Just take the order already!

Think there was one in Fresno if I recall. I think I bought my Centerlines and tires for my 69 Firebird (didn't have my convertible yet).

Had one that I knew of in KC area.
Anyone remember Cornealsons Racing was well known in southwest Iowa?

I remember K&G Speed( chop your et's) and Ben Pilla Speed Shops. And Bash Speed Shops

The Centerline Telstar rims and BFG tires on the Convertible were bought from Super Shops around 1990.

There WAS one in Fresno, went there quite a few times, now it's "4wheel parts". Right there on Blackstone next to In and Out Burgers.

Yeah Kern Dog, I lived in Sacto. 70-72. I remember Champion Auto on Florin (probably not a Super Shop) but when I needed serious stuff, seems like I went to a place called Tognetti's ...they had it all.

I believe there was a Super Shop in Salinas, CA circa 1973-75, Goodies Speed Shop, and another on Market St that had a name change to Dotseth's Specialty Parts (forgot the original name). I remember Tognotti"s or Tognetti's in Sacto (lived in Sacramento 78-79).

How about Warshawsky's? They and JC Whitney was the same catalog, but different prices. I heard that they were just around the corner from each other............................MO

Bought an Erson cam from Supershops...lobes went flat probably due to a hardening issue. From that point forward I always call them Sig Erson Balsa Wood cams.

The store in Sacramento is called Tognotti's. Dean inherited it from his father Don.
Sad story...Sometime in the 90s, The Father and Mother were involved in a Murder/Suicide. I think that I recall the Mother being terminal and the Father in severe depression as a result. The store still exists and seems to stay afloat.

EDIT: The Tognotti deaths were in December of 2000.

It was a lifetime ago, but I used to go the one in Riverside. I have a receipt somewhere which might be fun to post up here.
