Road Rage - What route are we traveling?

Ahhh the great lakes to FL route, long stretches of having to 10&2 the wheel and cover brake! Worst is when 65 thru IN is under construction, and slow Atlanta drivers that like the left lane (there's 5 or 6, wtf). My unscientific research on that route notices that most drivers in a rush have plates from IL,MI,OH and GA. Not as hurried for WI,MN,Ontario,KY,TN drivers. Yah, I know, I just grouped everyone together by state.

In defense (see my avatar), many Uhaul drivers get their first experience driving a truck, let alone a wind sail/mirror blocker with little top end power/speed limiter on the interstate. So I am polite because of that, but I do draft waiting to pass, which may be interpreted as impatience. And it seems that 2 lanes with heavy traffic certain ahole maneuvers are sometimes necessary as defensive driving against people that you know are going to cut in or NASCAR it. It seems aholes beget more aholes, a viscious circle.
Drive every day in WI...they have their share of ********....put your directional on to change lanes & they speed up! to block you from hanging!!
I think it is widespread across the country...(shitty drivers):steering:

Here is another type of "bad driver", the police evader. This is yet another reason why I can't wait to leave Southern California. These idiots want their 15 minutes of fame before they go to the big house for a while and the idiotic local news gives it to them.
The genius driving the upside down SUV was running from the cops today. I was in a local gun shop doing paperwork on a recent purchase when I heard a loud crash. Then about ten uniformed cops passed in front of the gun shop with guns drawn. The gun shop employees calmly herded us customers into a small side room while the cops arrested this moron.
There were three other cars badly damaged in the accident and those drivers had substantial injuries. I hope this guy gets his for years to come in the pokey. What an asshole.
Sorry to stray the thread but this is a fairly common occurance out hereand just wanted to share with you guys. Man, I can't wait to move out to the country soon. Be careful out there guys!

These kids didn't learn to drive in the kinds of cars we did, they learned in things that can stop on a dime, quick swerve without losing control etc... and everyone thinks they can drive like andretti. Highway 41/46 from the Central Valley to the central coast in CA, one or two fatal accidents a month(almost always head-ons) in fact I just passed a horrible one on my way through last week...(right near where james dean bought it btw) it's a hilly two lane road in the middle of nowhere and people just can't resist passing four or five cars at a time...go ahead and kill yourself if you're in that much of a hurry but DON'T HIT ME!

Overseas drivers:

Taiwan (Taipei and Taichung): A little clueless, but okay. Avoid riding with taxi drivers that like beetlenut. Don't go out late at night where the Taipei street racers (cars and crotch rockets) hang out.

Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur and Selangor): Just plain crazy any time of day. Chaos.

I stopped having this problem, for the most part, when I started driving Police Interceptors back in the 1990s. People rush up to me, see it's a police car, back down and slowly go by until they can tell I'm not a cop, and then take off again. Those who can't tell the difference fall in behind me and behave.

But even so, many drivers don't understand following distance. What is a safe following distance? Depending on who taught you to drive that can vary. For me, it's about 100-150 yards. I let the car ahead of me get that far ahead, and then I match whatever speed they are going. Yes, there are lots of folks who cut in ahead of me and slam on their brakes, but I don't care because they are so far ahead of me I rarely even have to take my foot off the gas yet alone hit the brakes. And I do this in the travel lane, not the passing lane.

My friend Eric uses his car to reserve spots for the MOPAR corner at the anual Rumblers show in Brooklyn:thumbsup:

Or the clowns that run the entrance ramps to inside the zebra stripes before cutting you off to get in. I have well over 200,000 miles on my flatbed and deal with these ******** daily! Here's a vid coming home from Island Dragway,,,Huge merge, huge asshole!

Yeah, but it's not just Florida. I just drove down from NY to St. Augustine 1150 miles and it is incredible the stupidity out there. The left lane "I don't give a ****" don't move over even after a row of cars pass them on the right. Excessive speeding, phone conversations and texting going on. Tailgating is the norm at 75 mph, and they don't care that you have nowhere to move over. There just aren't enough cops in the state to catch all these idiots. Just thinking, I need to drive home next week.:(

I feel for the truckers who try to manage huge vehicles on crowded highways. No comparison; but some appreciation was when I drove a sizable Penske moving my youngest from WI to FL finding non-stop people cutting in front of me while I tried to maintain a safe distance for stopping both safety and the stuff in the truck. And those who dart in front then hit the brakes for slow traffic ahead or to jump off the freeway at the last minute just having to get in front of a truck before doing so. It is really insane. I think repeat ****-wads should have their car impounded and given a larger doggy-*** truck to drive for 15 or 30 days for their daily transportation. Ok, well a dogshit truck might be better than what some of those drive...lol
