Road Trip Gulf Coast to NorCal

So the QA1 K-member and front suspension system I bought last November at a great sale price w/free shipping should have been installed last November...My damn front suspension went wacko last year at CtC, when the nut on the UCA cam bolt pulled a Houdini...
I made it to a local front end alignment shop and they replaced the nut, did a half assed alignment, replaced the 2 front tires that were 50% brand new and worn to the steel belts on the inner 50%....
Well I just happened to look at my front tires today and :eek::eek::eek::eek:
The inner most treads were GONE again, down to the steel belts!
I'm at Delta World Tire here on the coast getting another pair of front tires!
The front suspension system is the next thing on the MUST do list.
My guardian angel must look like he went 10 rounds with Tyson in his prime:rolleyes:

Moss Point Cruise today. Southern charm and hospitality. Pretty close to Alabama line. Beautiful drive.

Here's some pictures I got at Centennial Plaza, aka "Cruise Central", before I discovered the reason why the Grim Reaper was riding shotgun with me the last few weeks...
Riding along Beach Blvd to our first venue. My wife's 421 Tripower 65 GTO in front of me.

Long line waiting to drive into Centennial Plaza aka Cruise Central...this line will test a cooling system...It put Dennis's R/T to the test yesterday. No problem with my car or the GTO! We both have new Cold Case radiators on their way anyway. We are going to need them when we add AC to our cars, so what the heck. The antifreeze that I've been seeing around the cap on her radiator I think has been coming from the old cap. I replaced the radiator cap today, and no leaks! 20191008_114356.jpg

Thanks for sharing these pictures Dennis....mucho appreciato....:lowdown::lowdown:

You and Bio look to be having a great time cruising.

Back to the wtf files, guy at breakfast says “where are you from? Linda says, “Pennsylvania.
We have been living in a San Jose for 27 ******* years. Ask women at museum, “where are you from? Women says, “between Reno and Sacramento. WTF. Turns out she lives in Grass Valley. WTF is wrong with Grass Valley?

That reminded me of the time when I was working as a maintenance electrician in London (UK) and my colleague and I were chatting in the elevator to the upper levels.

A woman gets in, hears my accent, and turns to me and asks "Where are you from?"

I smiled and said...."The basement."

Stupid question- Are you guys having FUN? :drinks:
Yep! Way back about 5 years ago I had the first 3 1/2 days to myself. I had just got my Roadrunner a few months earlier, and hadn't had a vacation in 5 years, and made a quick decision to spend the WHOLE week at Cruisin the Coast...
No one to consult with, no one to answer to, no boss or wife to "run me"...
Then...that first week of blissful solitude was BROKEN when my wife showed up, hormones raging, and, well I have had to tell myself that since then, despite improvements to the Roadrunner, and being able to plan to make the most of my time at CtC from having "learned the ropes", that those first 3 1/2 days 5 years ago when it was just me and Miss Victory, my Roadrunner, may damn well be the BEST time I'll ever have at Cruisin the Coast! Some days it seems like my wife is trying to figure out how to mess up an otherwise perfect day....
Anyway, after an "episode" today she became more of a "normal" person and we went to the flame-thrower contest. I'm going to post a few more pix from Centennial Plaza aka Cruise Central and a couple of videos of the flame throwing contest.
The diesel rat rod threw flames so large that I could feel intense heat about 40 yards away!

This guy is a regular competitor, and put on a little more of the "classic" show, but had a liquid fuel stream in each exhaust that was hell on the asphalt!

And finally this rat rod. He too is a repeat competitor. His rat rod is a sight to behold even when he's NOT throwing flames!

Downtown Biloxi car show is tomorrow.
Past experience indicates that to get a decent parking space to show your car, you must be in line by/before sunup, so that means the alarm goes off in 4 hours!
:BangHead:
More pix tomorrow!

4:30am up and at it! Been up since 4. Not much sleep.
Pix later...
THANKS to all following this thread.

Arrived just after sunrise.
People who parked on the main street thru the venue got here when we woke up...:eek:4 AM :steering:
Still we got official venue parking spots:

Dennis,
How are you liking the southern coast?
How's the food?
None better. Friendly people, had one of the best Pork Chops, fried green tomatoes, gumbo next to the hotel at the Historic Whitehouse Inn. Chevy and Ford guys are acting decent too. Met some fellow travelers riding a Harley from Pennsylvania. They are on the road for 10 weeks heading home from California.
