Road Trip Gulf Coast to NorCal

With that distinctive bumble bee interior. I remember you created that sweet console. How’s that working out Bio?

Guy at the Big Easy Diner asked where we are from, said San Jose. He said, “where is that?
Guy in traffic asked if we are really from Ca. Most think car is just tagged. Haven’t seen otherCalifornia tags yet. Locals are friendly and welcoming. First picture last post is the
Jefferson Davis home. 93 Octane and no ethanol at that price? Try not to get used to that.

For the first time, my wife and I decided not to drive into Centennial Plaza to pick up our registration packs, but parked across the street by the beach instead. In a mile of parking spots we found one for each of us about a half mile apart.
Walked right up and got our bags o' registration swag (NO LINE). We preregistered.
:bananadance:
Grabbed some venue grub (grilled cheeseburgers and fries) and as we roamed about looking at the cars parked at that venue, noticed a rather foreboding looking dark cloud headed towards us. By the time we made it to Beach Blvd it had started to rain a little. Got in our cars and headed back towards our house. Nothing really happening along the way but more sprinkles and distantly visible downpours, so we came home by 4pm.
I ordered a Cold Case radiator for each of our cars today. That was something both cars were going to get in preparation for A/C anyway, and I think that the worry or actuality of overheating will be a thing of the past.
Here's some pix from today. Despite being at the same venue, we missed Denis and 747. I guess we left around the time they were getting there.
Started out with some $2.99/gallon no ethanol premium gas at the station 5 minutes from my house :bananadance::confederateflag:

Possibly the COOLEST "flames" I've EVER seen! The sheet metal was cut out to make up the flames engine cover! Oh, and IT'S A HEMI! :bananadance:

It's fine. I'm actually going to put 4 screws in the chrome hold down trim ring thru the shift boot. Seal off the trans/exhaust tunnel so I don't keep roasting my leg:rolleyes:

That green GTX is a little reminiscent of the one I just sold - with that six pack hood on it. Nice looking batch of rides. The flames are a pretty interesting deal. I’ve never seen anything like that either.

4:55 AM Fire Alarm. Evacuate Hotel. Perfect excuse to have a beer and towel down the Coronet.

GOOD MORNING, IT'S DAWN!!!
Checking out the
:usflag:Salute to Veterans:usflag:today...
Courtney Hansen:bananadance: is going to be signing autographs at that venue too!
I met her the first day I brought my Roadrunner to CtC to stay for the whole week. She's very nice and easy on the eyes.
That was the first year of the Mohawk. I hadn't had a vacation in 5 years, I had just got my Roadrunner, and I figured with the 68 yrs old former Marine who I worked for, who was a stickler for appearance and grooming, that the Mohawk would remind me every morning when I looked in the mirror that I was on vacation! It worked!

Met her three years ago at MATS. She’s very personable. She kinda hung out with me and my buddy and sat in my 71RR the whole time. Gotta dig up the pics.

Coronet has not seen rain like this since Allentown. 2” gusher yesterday in Gulfport.

Charger does same thing on passenger side...NOT pulling windshield!

This post is a memory flog for me. I spent a summer in Huntsville, and a summer in Bay St. Louis, way,WAY back when. I sure don't remember a cruise like this, or a Gulfport dragstip either! I do remember four hamburgers, fries, and a coke for under a buck, and summer rains on a day so hot that the rain sizzled and dried when it hit the parking lot.

Oh, and the pet alligator in the pond out back that ate the motel owners dog.

Your white card shows the car to be a Coronet 4/T.

When of course it should be a 44T.

Btw, Dennis, did they just take your "likes", remove a zero and make that your car number?
See post #74.

Late edit: at time of post, Dennis' likes were exactly 13950.
