Been great for a long time now, started in 2012 IIRC
mostly Internet stuff, before Speed/Velocity/
Motortrend TV, then picked them up, nationally televised now

Ahh man its in the spirit of driving clapped out cars. Not everyone got a new car as their first car. A lot of people started out life with junk they HAD to make run to get to work. Its more about the "rigging" the cars to get from point A to point B. It pretty much shows the struggles of trying to resurrect a dead car and making it somewhat roadworthy for a road trip. You fix something on a car and then something else breaks. We have all been there and it chronicles that.

I believe in the beginning it was geared towards teaching younger folks how to hot rod with little dollars. A lot of their "extras" were about simple things, carb basics, timing basics, etc.

My son and I recently got to meet Finnegan, Newbern, Cotton, and Blasphemi during the rocky mountain drag week. All really cool laid back guys, even under the pressure of Blasphemi acting up.

I first seen them I guess 2012 on YouTube. I think they were rescuing a convertible from Rick Pewe's back yard. Then they had a show called Roadkill. Then They got sponsored by Dodge. Then Motortrend wanted to make some real money off them so I quit watching. I do watch Finnegan's garage regularly on YouTube. The Roadkill episode I liked the most was The 68 Charger motor home engine and when Finnegan wheelied stubby bob.

I do like the beater/use what ya got/real old school hot rod like when you were a teenager tech.

This is why I like the show. There show is like my early life. No money, wanna play with cars and to fast, pile it with the need to get to work the next morning with similar disasters they have... yea... it was rough but it was what it was then.

The show is half a comedy. Half a how to and what not to do. How did that saying go they say all the time?
Perfect Execution of a bad idea? Something like that.

I subscribe to MTOD and like it. Along with the other shows, it helps the rainy days go by. Engine Masters is fun too. Some very good tech, some just plain ol’Tom foolery. I also like Magnito’s junk yard crawls with all the tid bit information that will probably make you rich on the game show Jeopardy!

Hands down, it is the most entertaining show on TV!!!! My favorite episode is the trip in the green lowrider, that can three-wheel, through the desert.

I'm a fan, and love Engine Masters too. I admire Dulcheck's tenacity and Dave's willingness to let him do the majority of the work while he stands around talking in his flip flops. It's a fun combination of what's possible when you think outside the box, the gotta-get-it-done urgency without the stupid manufactured drama "deadline" like *** Monkey or GYC, and feeling like you're right there with them helping to get it done.

I missed a video call from Steve a few months ago, 11:30-ish at night and blasting too far away from my bench to hear it. We've played a little phone tag since but I still have no idea why he called me. I'm hoping the Crop Duster needs some cool valve covers or something ...

Mike Finnegan lives pretty close to me over in Acworth Georgia. I keep expecting to see him and his ramp trucks running around but as of yet have not seen them. David Freiburger has his roots in car magazines and he owns a 1970 Super Bee he has had since High School. They are true gear heads.. And even had a grudge with *** Monkey Garage. *** Monkey didnt follow the rules and put their Hellcat engine in an A body car when the rules specified B body.
