Here it is everything you mentioned, plus rain and sunshine. If the weather changes to rain accidents.... if it has been the rainy season and changes to sunshine... accidents. horriblw drivers here, with horrible roads too. no signals, no moving over, they wont even move for emergency vehicles....

I believe in the George Carlin rule of driving with relation to speed. "Anyone driving slower than I is an idiot. And anyone driving faster? Is a maniac!" Because I'm obviously driving the correct speed?

I got some appreciation for truckers driving a sizeable truck across part of the country moving my daughter. Everyone just has to friggin occupy the space you leave in front in case a hard stop is needed and often the schmucks are hitting the brakes when they dart in front because of slower traffic anyway or to zip off the freeway ramp at the last second. Friggin nerve wracking + irritating. Truckers thank you for your service...

I kind of developed this negative attitude when it comes to drivers of vehicles...that is all inclusive of any type vehicle... It seems more and more, that drivers do not use their turn signals. At all really!!! It never fails that it is quite common and routinely neglected. I mean, are they an "OPTION" now of days??? Failure to signal a turn, lane change, you name it. More and more drivers fail to utilize them. They are there for a reason are they not? I was taught a long time ago, that proper signaling is part of operating a motor vehicle whether it be a car, P/U truck, big rig, and yes even motorcycles. Even utilizing "hand signals". Yet constantly those operators fail to do so. Very frustrating to say the least. The other observation I am seeing is that more and more, drivers refuse to stay out of the left lane except to pass. Been that way for eons. Yet more and more I am seeing drivers put-sing along just barely doing the speed limit in the left lane, and they fail to mover over. WTF is with these Clowns??? They act as though it doesn't apply to them at all. Today running down to the Home Center for a few things, I counted about 15 drivers that refused to move over and as I understand it, at least here in Nevada, it is the law. Yet I am forced to pass on the right which in most States is against the law is it not??? I live basically up on the Nevada/California border here in Northern Nevada. I am 5 minutes from that border. Many that use the 395/508 highway are in fact coming down from Susanville and other parts in California close to Reno to do their shopping. And they appear to be the worst offenders of both these infractions. Nevadans are also prone to doing that as well but it, through my observation, it seems that the California drivers are the worst. Now ya'll know that I moved here from California which isn't the main point. But being a former CA resident, I always tried to obey the traffic laws even there. So my small "rant" if you will is just that. I am quite certain the my fellow FBBO brothers and sisters practice proper driving regardless of their domicile and location. At least I would like to think so. When I do come down to California from up here, I see it routinely occurring on I 80. And it is far more a frequent occurrence there than here although it is getting greater in numbers. And it seems that the Law Enforcement forces turn a blind eye to it yet are always looking for those pesky speeders. Any way...Just more of my musings I guess. Just it would be nice to see the common courtesy from drivers rather than the flagrant disregard of the Rules Of The Road....Bill out!!! cr8crshr/Bill

I feel your pain as I live in Reno and drive 395 every day.i have the advantage of going cross traffic but still. My pet peeves are people who cut in your stopping distance and drive too fast for the weather conditions.

Drive in Manhattan gives a whole new perspective to navigating in traffic. Its insane. My pet peeve is when you pull over for a emergency vehicle and then attempt to get back into the lane, only to find the drivers behind you won't let you back in.
I had exactly that happen on the FDR drive not long ago. I pulled over in heavy traffic to let the ambulance pass, got back in my lane and a few seconds later a police car was behind. Pulled over and when I attempted to get back some idiot in a pickup speed up and tried to block me from entering. The rest of the incident I won't go into, but thats the kind of lousy drivers out there.

its rarer now to see people being courteous and giving way then it ever was before.

meanwhile,over in other countries,
youll get a ticket mailed to your home with a nice picture of you breaking the law and fines to pay.
monitored on cameras Everywheres...even out in the boonies..
so..we dont have it too bad quite yet.

basically,in the usa,its the wild wild west on the roads.
and the cops are the cavalrymen,and Best of Luck to them,because its a tough job they do.

Left lane losers, my lord, left lane losers get the hell over.. AND merging traffic , when they see someone getting on to the highway, they friggin freeze like they don't know to speed up, move over or slow down ..they put there brakes on as the idiot getting on slows down to get behind the right lane idiot .. finally their both doing 15 mph on the 55 mph road... man is it really that hard, I see it all the time..

I will admit. I never let anyone in who signals, merges or tries to enter from a perpendicular driveway while I am sitting at a red light if they are driving a foreign car. American car meaning GM, Ford or Chrysler, yes. Foreign, no. They must merge behind me. In fact, I have a few lady friends who drive foreign cars. I make them park in the street. Boy, do they get pissed I don't allow them to park in my driveway.

It all comes down to pride. No one feels pride in being a good driver anymore (or shame in being a poor one). It simply is no longer valued, much like the "excuse me" when crossing in front of someone. Christ I'm getting old.

I love driving, always have .. Two craziest places I've navigated is Manhattan, as Steve NY said, it always has been a wild experience .. and Atlanta rush hour heading to Florida ..I think it's six or seven lanes bumper to bumper sometimes at 70 mph .. NASCAR on the highway .. I'm a little nuts, but I enjoy both.

I spent a little time in Costa Rica when my daughter was there in the Peace Corps. Holy-holy **** guys talk about the unchartered frontier! You name the traffic hazard it was there. The friggin bus drivers have no mercy passing on those skank narrow **** roads with no shoulders and one lane bridges. All about the one who has less fear. One night dark as all get out a bus passed me with oncoming traffic close. I had to hit the brakes and slide off the road far as I could before going down a steep slope to avoid a pretty probable head on. No wonder ya hear about bus crashes in 3rd world countries. Then ya can run into a cow around a corner or rider-less horse or even a friggin four-foot lizard lanking down the road. Many roads are total ****, unreal hills and drops...glad I had a manual shift 4WD rental despite it being a POS. Their rental vehicles are ahh...not like here. Felt like I was playing a video arcade game driving around there. All in all I kinda enjoyed the thrill since we made it back home in one piece!
