Running your tires "white side in" (blackwall out) - what do you do to the white letters side to "disappear" them?

So...you decide to run your new tires with the white letters "in" (blackwalls out).
What (if anything) do you do to the white letter so they don't garner attention underneath the car?

KIWI Black Leather Die Kiwi is the shoe polish company.

I have two cars with the blackwalls out. Never seen the white letters showing on the inside other than when they are up on the lift.

Shoe black. Yep, thought of that. Wonder if it lasts?

Understood - but unless those rockers are on the ground, the white letters are visible. I notice them on other
cars pretty often, always have.

Got this off the Hamb. "Did some more checking and like all stuff that used to work good and be available everywhere, DuPont "7" Black Tire Paint is no longer with us. I need to say thanks to guys who posted on other forums who have done the legwork to search for this stuff. I did however, find out that KIWI black leather dye, which is still available works great on rubber. According to the interwebs, Wally's has it."

Don't you mean brown letters ? (BFG)

When I did mine recently, I just took a wide black sharpie and went over the letters a few times

No problems. If they show later, I'll do it again

No, considering I'm talking about a new set of Coopers in this case.
(BTW, the 15 year old set of BFG's on Fred right now remain white letters to this day).

Good to read that permanent markers are a viable option, thanks.

But Ed what if you decide later you want the white letters out? Now look what you’ve done to them

I always have the tire shop put the white letters to the inside. Never really cared if someone looked underneath to see them. I guess I know they are there but it never crosses my mind. Pretty sure mine are yellow or some shade of brown by now.

I hit them with what ever black spray paint I have on the shelf... Never had any problem with that

I just noticed the little cobra logo on the blackwall side....
Decision made.

Many years ago I used a product called tire black. It was made just for what you are talking about and you brushed it on. I did it on the front tires and put many miles on them with-out any issues. They stayed looking like black walls.

Wish it was in white for my “brownies”

Come to find out, they sell tire "paint" on Amazon (well, of course they do - hoopty crowd demand it!)
in all manner of colors....
So even you fellas fussing about your brown letters have hope now, I reckon....
unless the point is just to fuss about it. :)

By the way, Fred's trunk is crammed full of Cobras now - they all barely fit in there!
Appointment at the tire joint is 1pm today, where I'm going to get him up on their alignment rack to see
what needs attention in the front end, in addition to the great tire swappin'.

I actually did this yesterday with the tires I applied red stripes on. I sprayed the white walls on the inside with SEM flexible bumper coater. Looked like they never existed afterwards.

Not very noticeable.

Will get dirty and less noticeable as time goes on.

I'd be super careful about doing anything that could be permanent if you have any thought of ever running them "letters out" in the future.
