Sadly, this is the Air Forces NEW KC-46 tanker patch...WTF??

I spent 18 months in Canal Zone(Panama 1972-74)) next to Fort Kobbe where the 82nd Airborne had a large contingent. On Sunday Mornings I would get up early(6:00 or so) just to watch all the six companies Double time through the base. They were fun to watch, Big Guys, perfect cadence, with the Biggest Drill Instructors I have ever seen. All in white T shirts. I can still hear them today if I closed my eyes. Mostly Vietnam vets, Tough Guys. I hope and am sure they are still out there today.
This is/was my combat duty patch, the 449th Combat Aviation Brigade. I don't think I'd wear that thing on my shoulder.

Thanks to all you guys who served. My niece's husband flies a 135 for the NJ Guard. I'm going to email him the patch to get his take on it.

I also flew for many years - 3 tours in Nam. This was our patch for the 18th SOS. Call sign: Stinger. We were flying gunships over the Ho Chi Minh trail. Finally got out after 24 years active.

As an AF Reserve Aircrew Member for over 25 years I too find that patch hard to believe as anything other than a joke.....maybe for some female members of the Squadron????
If I were still active and ran into someone in a green bag with that patch on they would catch a SERIOUS ration of ****!
But then , we DID refer to the KC-10 Boomers as the "Gucci Boys"!

I've been with the Air Force and the DOD for 36 years now.
I thought I had seen it all.

Until now:
We at Edwards perform Experimental Flight test and Flight test for all of the US Air Force's 'aircraft.
Usually the "patch" design is neat/cool

Until now:

Check out the Boeing/USAF KC-46 PEGASUS Tanker patch:

Note: This is not a Joke!
harden up Nancy or i'll get little pony on to you .what is going on in the world today ?

As a retired 10 Boom, I resemble that remark and have no problem with it.

People sleep peacefully in their beds at night because rough men stand ready to visit violence on those who would do us harm.

My little Pony and My little unicorn shared stalls one night lol. Guess the unicorn got a little "dirty" from being put somewhere it shouldnt have? Does it putt in the rough? LOL anyway- I would vote that patch down in a heartbeat! I was Air Force also. Those pilots would not wear those. I was fuels specialist at Seymour Johnson in NC. Now that I think of it- that patch may work at my old base- See more Johnson lol.

Guys -- please stop the anti gay and political posts. If had to delete a few posts already, next I delete the whole thread.

Be nice everybody, sounds like Joey's getting pissed at us again.

Latest update on the "My Little Pegasus KC-46" tanker patch...

This patch was introduced by Boeing last week.
It came from the "Boeing Seattle (WA) team" as the of "Official Flight test Patch"

Some down here are saying: Hell no!

Why they went with this design?
I do not know.
However it is stirring up quite a controversy here at "Eddies-desert play ground" (Edwards AFB, Edwards CA)

Well... I for one am thrilled to see the Air Force folks finally coming out of the closet and admitting they're all Gay. We've known it for decades, but now they're finally coming out and showing what they really are. And what a great way to do it! The Navy's IFR was always done by sticking a probe into a receptacle, but the Air Force always insisted on having the the probe stuck into them. I guess once a "catcher", always a "catcher". :)

But look at the bright side... at least those faggoty ascots the pilots wear aren't the gayest thing anymore.

That is a "Friday" patch, "morale" patch, but no way in Hell am I gonna buy off on that being an "Ofiicial" patch! Say what you want, it ain't the real deal. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
