I saw this picture of a Challenger with unusual taillights, rear moldings and marker lights. It almost looks like a prototype 1971 car that didn't make production. The recessed tail panel is similar to the production 71 layout.

That is a standard 71 Challenger. The one I posted has a deeper recessed tailpanel, with the trim that runs under the edge of the trunk lid instead of on the edge of the trunk lid. It has different block lettering between the taillights and different side marker lights, longer and thinner than the factory ones. It almost looks like a 1971 Challenger prototype car. Note the thicker rear bumper and squared off bumper pockets in the rear quarter panels too.

Chrome looks the same but I agree the tail lights are more recessed and not shaped the same.

Maybe that whole panel is missing.

The moldings look like they are under the back edge of the trunk lid and rear quarter panel ends where the moldings would normally be mounted. The side marker lights are twice the length of the factory ones, and half the thickness.

Some people can't decide between a B body and an E body. I have lots of both,so I didn't have to make that choice!

That funky Challenger has the fuel tube on the Driver’s side as well.
