SCOOP IT ...the bigger the better .. because size DOES count

I wanna see a pic with it sitting on the hood and one without. To hard to make a call without pics.

Jay,I've seen some pics of '62s with scoops(MW style) and they don't look "wrong" on that car. They actually blend in well with that body. Not the "exaggerated" style, just the normal MW size.

If you're packing that much HP;I'd look for the quietest exhaust system you can find;kind of hard to "hide" that much power. The Dana would also be a giveaway that things aren't so "sleepy". Sounds like one fine project;you are now required, after teasing us,to provide more pics of the progress.

Jeez, still no decision????????

Only way I would "not" put a scoop on is if you plan to leave the rest of the car stock looking (ie. skinney tires, painted wheeels etc.). Once you change something on the exterior that lets everyone know it is no longer stock (looking)- you might as well have a scoop. Personally I like the looks of the hemi scoops better than the wedge scoops - but they are more correct.

Get an fiberglass bolt on hood and put the scoop on it.. Then switch them out whenever...

Yep, best of both worlds...got to get big engine some air to gulp!

I'm not a fan of the max wedge hood scoop on the 62. Sorry. Its not period correct .From 63 to 64 Yes but not 62. Sorry.

My 62 won't be having a scoop

I want the sleeper look. I will build-up the engine at some point, but I won't be putting in a scoop. I'd rather "cheat" with a procharger and/or nitrous than put a scoop on.

If my car had a scoop when I bought it, I'd still be happy with the car as I think they still look like they go with the car.

I think it would be the ultimate sleeper without it."

Whats the big deal about a sleeper.... that went out with street racing in the 70's.... Install it and don't look back.

Very simple, really.

Buy another hood and paint them both!

One scooped one plain.

I would scoop it or run fresh air tubes to the inner headlight buckets. tough call

Only for those who don't street race, there is still a big street racing scene in the Phoenix, AZ. area late night weekends.

Keep the stock one,put the scoop on a glass or steel hood!

Dont use a hood and the point becomes moot.

OK, it's been a long time comin, but have the '62 Plymouth done, with the max wedge scoop on it. If you want to see what it looks like , just go to You Tube.com, or google, and type in this exact heading----62 Plymouth max-wedge, (dont forget the dash between words) and there's a video of us loading the car up to go to the Nats race track. Thanks guys for all the input, and I got hundreds of compliments on the max wedge scoop. Thanks again.......

scoop it.....with a good stance...it'll scare anyone....

Hey Ron-Where did you get your glass hood and scoop from-sounds like your'ehappy with it

Actually the scoop was given to me and I bought the hood used for $100. dollars. So I dont know what brand either is. Like I said I paid $100. for the hood and then payed the painter and body man $250 to prep and paint them. So I have a total of $350. in all of it. I like them as its holding up great. Ron
