I used to go to the track every now and again. Driving approx. 1-1/2 to 2 hours one way was the downer. Through N.Y.C. Or a longer trip across the Island. Not a lot of fun with steep gears. You used to be able to catch me at various industrial parks.

Currently repairing the cruiser. ('79 Magnum) Then I want to get back to the street machine. ('73, 360, 4spd Cuda) and then finally get going on the drag Duster. ('71, 400/727)

God grant me .... Ahhhh, nevermind..... I'll get there.....

Had to vote not at all. Car is not together and I have not been able to make 1 mopar show and only made it to the track once as a spectator so far this year. A few years ago I was going regularly with a friend of mine who was running a 68 road runner. I was his pit crew. That to me was just as fun as driving. I got that 383 bird running pretty good. Stock bottom end, stock 452 heads. 750 Holley and a .284/.484 cam. Last race I remember was a stinking hot humid day at cecil county. Car was running consistent 12.52. Best ever was 12.36. Cant remember thw mph. 110 give or take. It was a couple years ago. I wound up getting the wife pregnant and he sold the car. I am close to having mine done. When junior gets a bit older I want to get back into it reguarly

Last year didn't get to race at all. This year off to a slow start. only test and tune, missed milan mopar weekend. I am come hell or high water not missing Norwalk! So I should at least make 4 or 5 races this year. Fingers crossed!!

We'll it's running so I think were back! :icon_cheers:The car lit instantly, oil pressure was at 80 and not one leak.... that makes me nervous. :eusa_pray: LOL
If everything go right God willing we'll be at the Mopars in two weeks and the Curt George Race at Quaker City in three weeks.

With this being said we are in the 4-6 race a year group. We are 30 miles from Quaker and about the same to Thompson and two and a half hrs from Norwalk so tracks are not a problem. We limit it because of time, wear and tear, and a limited budget.

Chris, did you get the message on the cell phone LOL

I voted not at all, but when my Road Runner is done I will likely go occasionally, like 1 or 2 times per year. That's if I don't get bit by the bug!

KD Belvedere love that 65

Man, the nearest track is a 1/8. Packed full of AWD ricers.

Before they all moved away for colleges there was a group of drifters I knew from highschool I used to hang with but I never competed with them in my Charger or the Mustang I had before. Used to be every Friday night, lasted a year I guess start to finish.

There is a small ring of hard-core street racers in Panama City but it's always invitation only and they run sprints along 98 across Tydall from PC to Mexico Beach.

Tallahassee on the other hand has too much traffic control. Everyone goes to GA for racing.

If I ever move to Jacksonville I'll be sure to post here what I find there.,but for the record I'm a spectator and not a competitor.

I would like to go every weekend but lack of money forbids it.

Car hasn't been brought completely back to life yet. The drive train however is ready to run. It's cosmetics mostly now. I plan on hitting the strip but frankly probably won't do so more than 2-3 times a year. It's inconvenient in SoCal as another poster mentioned. If more convenient I'd race more frequently. I now have the time and the car will be begging me to turn it loose.

To be honest - I really miss the street racing from back in the day. Dangerous - but he'll it was fun!

I used to race ALOT....Summit Series, National Opens, Big Buck Bracket Races...

I had this 65 Valiant for a long time... was the family car from 69 - 85 then I got it from my dad and turned it into a drag car through several progressive builds... sold it in 2008 and took some time away from cars...

Car eventuly ran low 10's at 130 with a nice little 360 flat tappet cam. Won alot of rounds with this car, I was the 2004 Division 7 Summit (Sportsman - then - now Pro) runner up.

Here are a couple of pictures

I just recently bought a 64 Savoy wagon with a big block and plan to run the car in Summit Sportsman - keep it around 12.10 - 12.30 drive to the track, have fun win some rounds drive home and not let racing run my life... haha that is hard for me.

Just curious to see who on here DRAG races much or just once in awhile like 1 or 3 times a year. Then there's guys on here who hit the track at least 3 or 4 times a month or more.
There seems to be the same 4 guys on here posting about their racing which I find is very cool and others just read and don't respond about their cars which I thought forums are for.

Most of the reason I don't respond to your threads is because you have that creepy stalker thing going on. I figured you would appreciate the feedback. That said I love drag racing!

Drag racing Nostalgia style

I used to NHRA class race super Stock back in the 70s and early 80s I got tire of the politics so I quit! Got back in it 4years ago Nostalgia Super Stock now (Victory Performance Series) have more fun than I ever did in class racing! We have 6 races in our series and do a few other Mopar races! We will be in Cordova Il. for the World series of drag racing,(Oldest Nost. race in the nation) It started in 1956!

well, now that i am finishing up the monster street car,i will get back to the race car.i would take the 67 out to the track, but i am sure i would only get 1 pass before the tech says i need cage, fire suit and helmet,so why bother.race car is 69 camaro.(sorry, but cheeper to build)blew the motor last race of season 4 years ago and have not been out since.both cars are out of my own pocket,so slow going $$$$ wise.

Our closest tracks are 3 1/2 hours away, so I either deal with all the border bullshit and hit Spokane or go to our little eighth mile in the mountains and get 20 passes in a weekend. We also hit a few destination races which are over eight hours away. We've had four weekends out this year so far and will probably get some Fall racing in but I'll be locked down for the bulk of Summer with work now.

If I could race more I would.

We usually go to Immokalee (1/8 mile track) open most Friday evenings (mostly rice burners and other ghetto types) and last Sunday of the month for run what you brung. Bradenton is 75 miles away and open most weekends. I usually get 10-15 runs a month in, unless something breaks at the wrong time.

I had to vote not at all, but soon to change. Just need to finish the car. I raced every weekend from 86-2004. Let the car sit in early 90's to drag race Motorcycles. 4 track championships, 4 runnerups. #8 on the prostar circuit 2003. A lttle conflict with a Jersey barrier ended my bike racing in 2004.2616_1095333430777_6103799_n[1].jpg

Best on this bike was 6.89 @ 207mph

I get out 10 to 12 times a year and put about 65 runs/year on the 64 Polara.Tracks are all about 60 Miles away whether it's Grand Bend, Sparta or Cayuga.64 DODGE 2013 TN small.jpg

I wouldn't mind doing a Victory race or two. The problem is that they're pretty far. The other thing is the buy into the points deal, not to good if your only going to make 1-2 races.
