six barrel vs four barrel

Some 440 specs worth noting I think...........................

I'm not sure but I think the recommendations for 383 was to use the 340 six pack carb set.

The only statistical data based comparison of a 4 bbl to the 6 bbl would be, for example, the link I provided or a similar dyno test where the intake and carbs are the only thing that changes...
Having said that, the difference between my 70 Roadrunner 6 bbl 440 and the 71 Charger R/T 440 4 bbl I had back in 78-79 is night and day, but the intake system isn't the only difference between the motors as my Roadrunner has other performance enhancements. Also worth noting is that my 6 bbl wasn't working properly when I bought the car, and now it is much better. It is a real kick in the butt and push back in the seat when the outboard carbs open. I just made about 14 trips down the 1320 on November 13th, and for the first time I power shifted every time (rev limiter gives me the confidence to do that) and what an improvement in performance over lifting, however briefly, between shifts.

Daves69, you are correct. The difference is the rear carb has a distribution tab. No cfm difference.

Biomed... a direct swap of inductions for a test would be great. A pricey test for sure. I would say a 6 pack vs a RPM and a 950 Holley would be great.
Both are dual plane intakes that work really well.

IMO, Besides the eye popping appeal of the 6 pack, the ability to run on the center carb alone is attractive for possible mileage gains and crisper throttle response. The bigger primaries of the 950 can be a tuning problem on big cam/small displacements. (Not everyone is a carb wiz!)
