Solid Roller Lifters on a Juice Lifter Cam ??

Any experience comments on running Solid roller Lifters on a Hydraulic R-Lifter camshaft with Alum heads ? ...Want to run little to no Cold lash for expected .005"--.010" hot lash...Maybe short Lash on 0.600" lift cam would be less stress on R--Lifters ?? ...Does a H--Roller cam really help S--Roller Lifters live longer on short cruise/occasional strip application ? Most .600" Roller cam's seem 112°-114° Lsa ?? I'm thinking 105°--108° for 4000--6500 rpm power band range ? Any experienced comments appreciated...thx,.......tom

Roller cams have lobes that have no taper. All flat tappet cams have some degree of taper. To run a roller lifter on a flat tappet cam seems to be a risky deal. The lifter wheel will be loaded on just one side, likely causing rapid wear of the wheel bearing leading to failure.

Always best to consult the manufacturer. They will know what is compatible with their products. Heat treating etc...

The idea is with way less lash its suppose to not beat the rollers up. Also the ramps are suppose to be a little easier on the lifters. Power wise HR is a few hp less then a solid roller but on a street car the positives outweighs the negatives.
We have done one so far, Cam from bullet. .009 lash crower lifters. Have not had it long enough to tell you its better then a solid roller for longevity and plan to play with the lash more down the road...but the theory is sound and Tim G. at Bullet says its getting more common. Not all hr cams will work, check w mfgr. Not sure on how much less lash to run with your aluminum heads maybe .002. Not sure I would worry about aluminum vs iron on the lash.?

Sounds like you don’t have a cam? I would have one ground for solid roller for street use. People who usually toss solids on HR cams already have the cam.
