Anybody watch the qualifying for the Mopar Mile High Nats ? Alan Johnson #1 spot. And if that wasn`t enough , Mike Dunn is doing a new segment called the Top 5 Coolest racecars of all time. The Sox & Martin 70 `cuda was named #4 . Too bad half of the tape they showed was of the 71 car with that hideous grille & Trans/Am looking gills on the front fenders . Just my opinion, but the 70 is SO much better looking than the 71. Dunn did mention that the S&M cars were legislated out of competition, not beaten.

nice ! ... just met a guy yesterday who's dad drove the " flinstone " charger back in the day ..... had a ton of stories abouth him and his dad at the track with sox-n-martin , dick landy and a bunch others .... pretty cool !

i watched it also. I do agree that the 71 was gaudy as hell. the 70 is a much nicer car imo.i had a chance on buying a 71 hemi cuda but chose this real one of it.

The Flitnstone Flyer?
Are you speeking of one of the Kofell's?

The 71 isn't so bad, it was the last of the Hemi Cars to compete, but I do like the E-body 70 Cuda, the first year of a new body style, of most cars is some times the best, not always though...

Speaking of Mike Dunn, I found this pic online the other day. Is this the same Mike Dunn? It looks like the driver's name is not 'Mike Dunn' even though it's on the side. Maybe one of his dad's cars?

might have been ... i wanted to talk to him more after i grabbed a bite to eat but he was gone. They are from Virginia if that helps any ! ... He was telling me about an original, still in the crate from 1964, 426 stage 3 wedge motor that he has from back in the day. Chrysler sent them a new hemi to use so they decided to put the wedge to the side. been sitting ever since ! Also has a 1964 af/x car with same motor in a museum somewhere in new england .... Will try and get a name, he was talking to my buddy for a while ...

I gota few pics of the sox & martin cars on my walls along with the kings...Yep his 70 cuda is up their too...Alot of people don,t realize that 67 was a banner year for plymouth,..Sox & martin won the winter nationals in a 67 satellite and the King won the championship that year in a Belvedere..
