Speedmaster bb heads

Yes, from meeting mopar people in my area. I got connected to a great guy named Dave 80yrs. Old. He worked at a few now defunct machine shops. He has built a machine shop in his barn. We does all different engines & heads. He just finished my 383 short block. 30 over bore/hone. Freeze plugs, cam bearings , turn crank 10/10. Sleve in 1 cylinder. Recon rods w/ arp & sonic clean block and reassembled $1,500
Damn, i wish he was near me :) I want someone to throw together a 408/390 bottom end for me..

Speedmaster has a 60% off sale right now. With that savings you could take them for a nice valve job. Don't know about the big block. But a friend who recently passed did a lot of small block Speedmasters. He said check them, fix the valve job and they were pretty decent for the money. When ported he liked them better that the SB Edelbrocks.

I would think if they put a 12 month warranty on the heads they will perform as needed.

I recently ran into someone having to replace the springs, valves (cupped tips) and guides (using oil) after a summer of driving on a set of Speedmaster heads. Tommy Boy comes to mind: IMG_8696.jpeg

After all that time, effort, delay & cash = No Deal. Spend wisely.
Trickflow bbm heads, $3000 now? Quality offset rockers, maybe $800, maybe $1200. Fabbed valve covers, $200. Edelbrock intake, maybe,$400. So, roughly $4600.
I might try the equivalent deal from speedmaster for $1400.
(And yes, I KNOW the quality is NOT equivalent, but someone might be in a position to spend $1500, and not $4500)

You can get a bare set of actual Victors for around $790 each with valves from companies like Hughes. They are not exactly expensive.

I Agree, but I saw a guy on you-tube ( I will look for link) he brought the kit & there roller rockers were Way Off. Don't remember valves. I do know he wanted Refund.
