I was working for a contractor who was doing a job in a once nice, now crime ridden, drug infested apartment complex. The day the OJ jury came back with the verdict, the owner instructed all workers to pack up and wait in the work trucks and be ready to leave if the verdict was guilty. When he was found not guilty these "residents" were cheering and celebrating and we went back to work. They were to ignorant to get it that OJ couldn't give a crap about them.

The sports world did an excellent job of hiding OJs many domestic violence issues. We who only knew him from his glory days and Naked Gun movies all thought he was a good guy. Anybody with a soul quickly changed their mind during the trial though.
Sadly it's not about guilt in the minds of his supporters, it's about pulling one over on whitey. Anyone who has a daughter or sister should be able to see past the race thing though

yeh I was in the city that day. Everyone stopped what they were doing to watch the Jury verdict announced. I was of the opinion he was guilty as hell so when it came down I had to keep my mouth shut for obvious reasons....outnumbered being one of those reasons.

I read were her family knew he was abusive to his wife. I dont see it as pulling one over on whitey at all. Blacks saw it as another black man being persecuted when they mistakenly thought he was innocent and dont think they were thrilled he married a white girl either.
