SRT8 Roadrunner conversion, NOT a body over!!

I have seen some speculation on why I would want to sell this labor of love after all this time. Well first off Craig is a master and a perfectionist in what he does. And the cars build reflects that in every way. I do not "feel ripped off" as one commenter speculated. Yes the paint and body work was almost double the original quoted price but the job came out very nice. 98% of the people that see it are very impressed. You can always find fault with anything if you look hard enough. As anyone know . building a car is going to be pricey no matter what anyone tells you. Show me a car that came in on budget and ill show you one no one would want.
I am selling it because I am semi retired now, and do not have the storage, money or interest I once did. Remember I started this project almost 9 years ago. All hobbies wax and wane and I now have new ones that have taken the place of this one. I have loved cars my whole life and have owned north of 75 vehicles. It would be shameful if this beautiful machine just sits in the garage and is only taken out on occasion. But a sturdy, inexpensive boring modern car is all I need now. Enjoy your passions today. Because someday you will not feel the drive and excitement of bringing these pieces of art back you once did.

Right there with you Dave. I am in the same position as you regarding my car, retirement, money,...life in general. It changes. Most times, one is better off going with it rather than try to hang on to what has passed.

Does anyone know how much he is asking for this car? I messaged him a while ago now but no reply.
Thanks!

That is very nice. If I had the time to invest would sure like to do something like that.

I came across a similar build a while back, a 69 roadrunner body grafted on to a challenger SRT. That car is in Hemmings Muscle Machines the latest copy.
And the "chassis" picture in the article is my first magazine car. Used a lot of parts from that on my current project.

Awesome! There are 17 pages and I did not read through it all, so you may have answered this already. When someone starts a project like this do you give them a price estimate? What would doing this again for another person cost today?

Maybe Dave's wife got ahold of the receipts and final bill on this one, I would be disgusted to, but of course, it's not something Dave (or anyone) would willingly admit.

Couldn't imagine having the liquid assets to spend what amounts to a brand-new RAM TRX towing a Dodge Demon on a B-Body Mopar.

The owner sent me a link a few days ago. It looks like he has put the car on consignment with StreetSide Classics. https://www.streetsideclassics.com/vehicles/3199-tpa/1970-plymouth-road-runner-pro-touring

I initially thought the selling price was a touch optimistic, but if a stock RR with an upgraded, bolt on suspension and Gen 3 Hemi is selling for 125K, I might be wrong.
These two cars couldn't be more different.

Too many unknowns to estimate, it's by the hour...and it takes hundreds and hundreds!

I agree, however as with anything, once you’re experienced with doing one you are probably in a better position to ‘ball park’ the next one.

I was just wondering how you would do that. Just the small jobs I do, usually finding clunks, bangs, and vibration issues and making them go away, and sometime doing aftermarket equipment install or upgrades. No way to estimate work like that, it's by the hour. And hours can add up to labor bills in the $3000 to $4000 range very easily. People don't seem to realize how some perfectly restored and custom modified cars can get to the $150,000 range. But they can easily.

My old boss said that if he had to send more than 1 guy on a service call, however many hours it took, it was multiplied by the number of guys.

What do you think a custom interior like that costs? Gen3 with a 6speed is no Bolt in! You obviously have never did one.

Oh I’m pretty sure he has. Maybe you should go to page one and post one of this very thread and read it ALL before saying that…..

I don't need to see it if he says "a gen 3 is just bolt in"!!! As far as suspension goes you can buy some nice "bolt ins" with some welding! How about that trans tunnel ? Do you guys even know? or are you just post readers like most people
