I just bought the Pertronix Ignitor II and Flame Thrower II coil for my bone stock 440. The instructions indicate bypassing the ballast resistor. However in keeping in the pure stock appearing show car mode, I'd like to retain the resistor for looks while not using it. Can I hollow out the back side and run a jumper wire inside to the treminals? I'd like for my wiring harness connectors to remain hooked up to a "Stealth" resistor. Any thoughts or ideas? Thanks guys!

I just did this with a brand new ballast. I gently pryed the holder apart and was able to remove the resistance wire. I used an 8 gauge wire cut to length and inserted it into the plug ends, and soldered everything together and it works fine.

This is mine.
Dremel out the back, solder your jumpers, fill with silicone.
Done.
