Super-bee_ski's 1963 Dodge "Max Wedge" clone resto "Round-2"

Thanks Pops...
Well, It's a new beginning.
Im fortunate enough this new shop allows me a tighter control over the entire process.
They are letting me go "hands on"
I'm in the project "deeper financially" than originally planned due to the LOSS of money paid to the first shop.

I hope this works out great for ski!!!! Sounds like you can get your hands dirty to, maybe that will take the memory of that first place away, Bunch of guys out to make all they can without giving someone like you the satisfaction you PAID for, there should be a law that locks them up for doing it!!! Immediately...

Thanks Ron!
I met the previous Mayor of this little "Hamlet" last night..
His 55 F100 Truck is now in Paint Shop Prison, same place
I think "we" are pursuing a Law Suit...
I wont get anything but it will "STING" his business reputation...
I'll keep everyone posted!

As long as the lawsuit isn't putting you any further back financially it's the right thing to do. Also especially considering the Mayor is involved maybe work together with the media about doing a special interest piece on being taken advantage of by Bodyshops. My experience with the people I know in TV news they are ALWAYS trying to find a story and anything to further get the word out about this Clown would be a public service on your part

Also, to save others from the same experience, "YELP" and the internet are your friend. I always check yelp reviews when looking for a service provider. As long as you are honest in explaining your experience with a company it's a good way to hammer them in a mature way. Also, do a BBB report for the same reason.

This is going in the 1963 Polara
A "440" based MAX WEDGE style
Also, the 727 "Built" with Spec sheet.....

Very nice..... I need to hear some sound from that baby........

Is that pan gonna scrape the ground? That thing looks huge!!!

Wow, ski, the body looks GREAT. Glad you were able to move on. I'd bet a shop removes things fender tags just for ammunition because they have experience with f'ing their clientele.

Sounds like you really are above that sort of thing. Very impressive the perspective you are able to take on this; boy as a younger man i think i would have done something pretty stupid over a situation like this. You da man.

Very nice, can't wait to hear it run!

Looks like your making good progress now. Good luck with the lawsuit and more importantly with the progress on the car.

That's a great project you have. Wish you all the best with it.

Subscribed. Just found and read your thread. At least I didn't come upon it at 50 pages!! Like I did 747's!! Man your car is in nice shape. I think the trunk pan is just to keep the build a build! :icon_mrgreen: You almost got a way with zero rust. We can only wish for that kind of car up here, and I really think by the time we are done playing with rust it would have been well worth shipping a desert car up! I love the engine and trans. Gotta get me one of those! Is '63 push button? If so are you staying with it, column or floor shift? If I ever get to my '62 I'm probably keeping the buttons for nostalgia sake.
Anyway, nice start, restart, on a cool car.

Ha Ha...me too 747mopar!
When will that day come?
I started this in 2008, but, it was held prisoner at a BAD business..Phoenix autobody, California City CA 93505

:angryfire: :angry1: :(

gdrill:
Yes, it's a pushbutton...
A good friend of mine in riverside CA (Bob Mazolinni of "Bob Mazolinni Racing") had a 1965 trans for me...he had his "bud" re-build it. There is something about the hard to find 1965 Trans for the pushbutton set-up...
I'm hoping to do the Cal-Vert rear end set-up.
I have the TTI headers also

Have you been reading my mind Ski? That is exactly what I hope to do with my 440 wedge next summer. Following IQ52's thread I hope to get 540 hp out of it. Very cool engine and car.

5.7: It's a proven set-up from Dale Reed...
He says its ok...

HP? I'm not sure ma mopar nutz....

I didnt Dyno it but Dale Reed ran it on his break-in set-up..
He thinks it's an easy 550HP
The Rods are the real good H-beams with a great steel crank....
The best of everything in the engine...
I got the engine from the guy I bought the Superbee from...
In 1995 he wanted 500 HP, he threw away the Bee's original 383 so I went to the junk yard and retreived it...from salvage..
He spent $8K on the engine and $2K on the heads...
He left it at my house for 11 years, never returned so i turned it into a Maxie style engine..
I brought it to Dale Reed in Baldwin Park CA (He builds ALL of Bob Mosher's engines)
I had Dale re-do it...he says it's a great engine...

Ghostrider 67 says: "Have you been reading my mind Ski? That is exactly what I hope to do with my 440 wedge next summer. Following IQ52's thread I hope to get 540 hp out of it. Very cool engine and car."

Hey Ghostrider 67, yeah...IQ 52 has helped me a lot...as has all the other "Great Guys" on this forum....
I keep following HT 413s build too....I'm learning as I go...
For the 440 build for the GTX I just picked up: I'm following HT 413 with the build emphasis on torque...

HT413:
Yeah...I think about that all the time..
I am confused, the Small Claims Court verdict merely is a "on-paper" victory...
He is NOT required to pay me and probably will not make any effort at all.
I like to believe in "Karma"...perhaps if Karma does rule the Universe, he will get his someday.
After all it came through for O.J....
But years ago I would have acted out on anger and emotion, perhaps I would have been in trouble for it and I would be seen as 'the bad-guy"
My current DOD job prohibits any infraction, so as you say HT413, I have taken the "higher Path"
