looking good ski what a mug shot :blob1:

Looking real nice. Is that an original 1963 rear axle? What case does it have (as in 741, 742, 489)? Is there a gear ratio stamped near the oil plug?

SBSKI, I like your cap and your car, good luck with the rest of your build.

Making great progress there Ski! Car is going to be wicked cool!

And yes, I am jealous of your temperatures - What I wouldn't give just to have temps in the 40s!

Hawk

Thanks Snakeyes!

-Anselmi: Yup, it came off a Plymouth Maxie years ago.
It's a 3:91 with the "Smaller" undesirable pinion? (1-3/8" small stem pinion (aka. '741')
But, this IS the rear end that was installed in Max Wedge cars during the 1963 year, so, I'm going with it for now.

-Thanks crypldog....it is a slow process, at least for me. I work Mom thru Fridays, much like most of you...and I get about 1/2 day on the weekends to work on the cars.

-hsorman: Yeah, thanks...it is slow...but a little progress at a time...

- - - Updated - - -

I hate to say this...
But we have been high 70s and low 80s all past week!

Looking great Ski, thanks for the updates. Nice mug shot! No shortage of sand to blast with I see...lol.

I'm going to pull the rear-end apart this week, send it to my "bud" and have him go through it.

Ski, I see you missed a quarter size spot on the housing, lol!!! Looking good!!!

5.7:
I have missed a few spots...
I'm going to do more on it this weekend ((21Feb-22 Feb 2015)
I ran out of time last weekend!

LOL

I just ordered the 1963 Front Valence from Auto Metal Direct (AMD)
It is a new product they just started to offer...
Mine was damaged and instead of pumping hours of valuable time into I'm going with the AMD Reproduction.

I'll evaluate quality and fit and report back:
