I would like to know the original break fluid for my 1970 super bee 440 six pack car
It only has 15,000 original miles on it and I want to keep it original

Congrats this is a very nice car. One of my favourites too.
I got a 69 charger r/t and i use DOT 3 brake fluid.

Dot 3 original. Dont mix in silicone unless its a whole new system.

I upgraded to DOT 4 synthetic, but you have to bleed everything. Doesn't absorb water and rust break lines. I don't think it would be important to try and find original fluid and it wouldn't be as good.

Welcome Dave, glad to have you with us. I too brought an all original 6bbl car back to life this year, after being off the road since 1978. I redid all of the brakes, lines, wheel cylinders, master, and I used dot 5 silicone, for the above mentioned reason. It doesn’t absorb water, and doesn’t rust the system. Nobody would possibly know what kind of fluid I used, and I too want to keep my car as original as possible. It’s not a sin to update things like fluids and such, it’s safer and better for the system. You can use dot 3 if you like, but there are better products nowadays, and you can still keep the originality. By the way, I am still running on the original drum brake system, and it works flawlessly!

You must mean that you switched over to Dot 5? Dot 4 is not a synthetic. I think the only difference between that and Dot 3 is a higher boiling point.
